There's over 700 players in the nhl, by your calculation there should only be at most 450 players in the nhl right now , I understand the point you were making, but in reality about 2-3 draft picks each year will turn into nhl players, some years you won't get any and some years you'll get 4 or 5 but on average 2-3 a year per team will turn out. Also yes we've missed some good players but 28 other teams missed those guys too, and they've missed out on our 5/6/7 round star picks too. We've been very good at drafting players.

Doesn't matter he didn't have all those guys on one team was my point. And none of those guys were top 5 picks in their prime like Pittsburgh has. Babs won us a cup, our team hasn't been as skilled since our last cup, so we haven't had a stacked team in 5 years.

You can't put all those names together to make it sound like he coached them all at the same time. Ya he had some good teams but he didn't have the 01/02 wings that bowman had, and some of those guys were far past their prime when he got them.

Holland doesn't sign guys like that for more than 2 years at most. Every team signs these types of players. Go to any fan forum and all the fans do is ***** about how they signed this vet or that vet that's washed up. You need vets to be successful, you can't win with just youth. Look at Edmonton
