Couple things, pads have gotten smaller the last couple seasons. And you can't force goalies to play stand up style just so you can increase scoring in the league. A goalies job is to keep the puck out of the net as best as he can, that would be like telling one of your employees he works too efficiently and you want him to take short naps throughout the day from now on.

I don't really care if the cap goes up 4-5 million instead of 7 million. Even though I couldn't find the story it's only espn, when someone reliable mentions this I may be more inclined to believe it.

lol, Osgood again? Osgood had many a bad periods of shaky play, hell no one even thought he could win a cup for us. he was ripped on worse then howard is most of the time, everyone forgets the bad and remembers the good. Osgood was not some poster boy of mental edge on the ice. He was a good goalie behind a great team. In fact his stats are actually pretty bad considering the teams he had in front of him, so i think you should look at it a little more realistically and take ozzie off the pedestal you've placed him on.

Putting wins aside monsters stats are pretty much identical to howies he has not been better, and holy is not a below average minor league goalie...

I don't think people hate him, they just hate on him quite a bit, Gustavsson has not played any better by any means, people need to realize that, ya howie could play betterfor sure, but people act like Gustavsson is Lundquist, Gus has been as bad or worse then Howie. the wings just scoree more when he is in net, he also plays against lesser competition compared to howie lol his ctual stats don't, the only reason he has won more, as has been pointed out, is because we score more when gus is in net, all other stats are basically the same
