off season would be good if it is at all possible. but if we could somehow dump quincey, sammy, and someone else, we could possibly get him. so basically we have 0 chance of landing gaborik

Ya but it would only be for the trade deadline to end of season, then we could re-sign him at 6 per. I like to live in a fantasy world where people will trade us very good players for our garbage

I would absolutely love to get gaborik if possible. I also don't think it would cost that much considering his decline in play and ufa status coming up. I think he could be a reclamation project gone right for once. Z-d-b F-w-g T-h-a M-a-c S Looks good to me. Don't know what we would give up though. Maybe a first and a second with Sammy going back their way...

Quincey and eaves for del zotto? The rangers might be desperate for a change, but not stupid. No team would want Quincey to play 19+ minutes a game, nor would they think that would even close to be a fair trade, and eaves couldn't even be picked up for free. Maybe smith + kindl/ouellet/Sproul/almquist + Sammy MIGHT garner interest

Maybe, but when you look at a defenceman like lids, you automatically know he knew when to pinch and when not to, and he was always able to backcheck and cover his own ass in his own zone

Quincey seems to make everyone worse, smith has played better without Quincey, hopefully babs realizes this and scratches Quincey when smith returns and never plays them together again. I know it's a pipe dream though
