Again we already have too many bottom six wingers. So that doesn't really make sense -

If helm is healthy, that puts Andy at 4th line centre. Which leaves emmerton the odd man out, with helm at 3rd. The only reason emmerton gets to play is if helm is injured. That's the only reason he has played the last two seasons -

We have 4 top 6 forwards very capable of playing the center role. Which means if one gets injured someone can replace him. Leaving a wing position to be filled which we currently have a plethora of. So why would Emmerton get the call up when we have capable forwards in the press box? -

which center is older and doesn't care? -
The solution is simple. Step 1: lockout to stop big contracts and teams not sharing revenue Step 2: sign the same huge contracts right after lockout ends step 3: ??? Step 4: profit...

Dats and z only having to be out during regular strength and pp makes us a much better team. -
Some people just have a profound love for the game, and remember who took the chance and got them to where they were. Not knocking other players, everyones situations are different, but when a team spends a lot of time and money developing you into a star, that should definitely play a big role in what you sign for and who you sign with. Datsyuk, Zetterberg, lidstrom, could have all made more money elsewhere, but they were loyal and not greedy. That is why they led our team to multiple Stanley cups (Zetterberg only one) guys like Sammy, huds, flip, feds, and others obviously decided what was most important to them, money.

I agree with most of your post. Only thing is Sheehan has proved he is no where near ready. Ferraro is probably our closest to ready option -

They both did that. Shame really. -
When did I ever say lids did not play well? I said there was very little interest in him from other teams or else he would have been picked higher. We either got really lucky waiting till the third round for him or no one knew about him at all

Which centre do you suggest gets bumped for emmerton? Helm? There is a reason he plays for league minimum, that's what he's worth -
Lids was a 3rd round pick/53rd overall. So who knows. We probably still would have gotten him, it doesn't appear that there was a lot of interest or buzz around him on draft day

Two legit top 6 forwards in there. But not the best. I firmly believe flip had too much pressure on him here in Detroit though. Well see next year. Either way not worth his cap hit -
I like my 1 year old nephew. Doesn't mean he's ready to play with the big boys Too bad I'm at work. I would pay a thousand for it. At ONLY 599.99 THAT'S A STEAL
-
Ya... I was joking
-
They wanted to get the ball rolling lol
-
Emmerton is a call up gap filler. Assuming helm is healthy he won't pass andersson or helm on the depth chart
-
Unfortunately it was a necessary buyout
-
I dunno. I know I'm a huge fan of the winter classic jersey. The alumni one is ok, but I prefer the one the team will be wearing

This is good news wonder how much it is for. Gotta assume 2 years 1 million per, one way deal. -
Homer was a different story. But you're right still, however I think nyquist looks much better in 14 than 89
-
I don't think even that will happen or else it would have already. He has to prove himself and earn a top 6 role. He wants too much too fast. He should just take a 2 year 5 million deal and run with it. Cash in on the next contract
-
Ya but if you recall when he first started he was very ambitious, and handed out a lot of suspensions. So wither he stopped caring or someone curbed his enthusiasm
-
I wouldn't say he is working to destroy the league. He is trying to take illegal hits out of it. He is merely a figure head, there is a group that determines the suspensions, not just shanahan. I also believe the league won't let him give out as many suspensions and as long as he wants them to be, for well deserved suspensions. Mind that is me just speculating, but as far as changing the actual game, that is on bettman
-
Exactly. Can't take it away from nyquist
