Just saw this too. Was coming to post it lol

Axe Holland said it himself, our four centers this year are; Datsyuk Weiss Helm Andersson Emmerton is 5/6 on center depth sorry buddy
-
You do realize axecthat Holland himself said our centers this year will be Datsyuk Weiss hemp and Andersson. Emdog is odd man out barring a long unfortunate injury. You just have to accept he is 5/6 on the center depth chart
-
we cannot afford to lose 1 game in 6 to them
-
I know I compared the top hundred players hits stats and posted them. difference was like 1.5 hits/team/game for the east over a full season
-
Mostly just because he was making trades, I love Holland, and I think he has done an awesome job over the years, I just really wanted to get some fresh faces going in here, although I like the addition of Weiss and Alfie, and I do believe that seriously makes us a contender now, you cannot argue that while he is trying to re sign cleary, and ditching Brunner, and signing 35 year olds to multi year contracts with NTC's that other gms are not trying to shake things up, and i am not saying give away the farm, but Dats and Z are getting older and I really want them to win a cup, it would be refreshing to see guys like bert and sammy gone and guys like Ryan or Clowe brought in. my opinion, I still give Holland a B for this off season
-
I agree with Mrazek not being ready, but you have no proof that monster will be injured all year, or at all for that matter, most injuries this year was for a lack of half a season with no time for training camps, and a week long pre-season. Washington is garbage when Ovie isn't playing full tilt, which aside from 24 games last season he hasn't played that way in several years, so they are like a 6th seed maybe, they only had home ice cause they had the worst division in hockey. I do not truly believe NYR will be better with Vigneault than they were with Torts. Montreal is hit or miss really, Boston has fallen apart this off season, so lets see how they bounce back after losing key pieces of their team, and Pittsburgh is just a joke, they are good regular season, but come playoffs they are the laughing stock of the nhl. I honestly don't think there are 3 teams truly better than us, assuming half our team doesn't get injured (we can't possibly have that much bad luck 4 straight years) then I firmly believe we will start playoffs with home ice, and make a deep playoff run. With Alfie, and weiss joining Datsyuk, Z, Franzen, Nyquist and Tatar, and Helmer, we are in for a treat this year, cause we aren't trying to make playoffs this year, we are trying to win it all.

wait so you're telling me we won 3 stanley cups without him?

If we convinced Smith and Andy to take us to arbitration, that would make sammy eligible for an ordinary buyout, which only leave us on the hook for 1 mil of his cap, thus freeing up another 2 million giving us lots of space for goose, andy, and smith. We might even have a little breathing room in case of emergency too CAPGEEK.COM USER GENERATED ROSTER My Custom Lineup FORWARDS Henrik Zetterberg ($6.083m) / Pavel Datsyuk ($6.700m) / Justin Abdelkader ($1.800m) Johan Franzen ($3.955m) / Stephen Weiss ($4.900m) / Daniel Alfredsson ($5.500m) Gustav Nyquist ($1.500m) / Darren Helm ($2.125m) / Tomas Tatar ($0.840m) Drew Miller ($1.350m) / Joakim Andersson ($1.000m) / Todd Bertuzzi ($2.075m) Jordin Tootoo ($1.900m) / Patrick Eaves ($1.200m) DEFENSEMEN Niklas Kronwall ($4.750m) / Danny DeKeyser ($1.350m) Jonathan Ericsson ($3.250m) / Jakub Kindl ($2.400m) Brendan Smith ($1.200m) / Kyle Quincey ($3.775m) Brian Lashoff ($0.725m) GOALTENDERS Jimmy Howard ($5.292m) Jonas Gustavsson ($1.500m) OTHER Buyout: Mikael Samuelsson ($1.000m) ------ CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter) (these totals are compiled with the bonus cushion) SALARY CAP: $64,300,000; CAP PAYROLL: $66,169,545; BONUSES: $3,010,000 CAP SPACE (23-man roster): $1,140,455

I agree they should do what they feel most obligated to (family ties, money, city, favourite team etc...) but to say they won't be able to support their family on 2.5 million dollars a year is a bit far fetched my friend. Most people support families on 70 grand or less a year, I think he could scrape by with a few million, don't you?

Lmao, I wish, if it was everytime he thought of re-signing cleary I would give him a whack in the back of the head to wake him up

81 Michael Babcock, Jr. * F 5.09 150 — Det. Catholic Central (MHSAA) I hope his game is as intense as his old mans stare...
-
My buddy did, he loves sammy as much as kenny... he still thinks sammy can be great for us, maybe they consulted each other about it? Come to think of it, he loves Cleary as much as kenny does too...
-
I would love to know which 8 teams precisely in the east are better than us that will stop us from gaining playoff entrance? Pittsburgh NYR, maybe Boston and Montreal are 4 teams I can see possibly giving us a run for our money, who else? Tampa? Florida? Toronto? Washington? Buffalo? Philly? NJD? please, These are all bottom feeders that merely swap turns making the playoffs because all they have to do is beat the other bottom feeders. The east by far is easier than the west, and we have a better team then last year, top 4 spot in the east, mark it now
-
I agree for the right price he should be here, I am not advocating him being over layed, I am just saying there are players more expendable than he is, which to me doesn't quite make him expendable, although we will be alright without him but he does add some extra goal scoring depth. Also I love fedorov. I will defend him till the day I die, so what if he wanted more money and went where someone was willing to pay him, that's the nhl
-
Bostons roster has crumbled, and most other teams have just filled holes that opened this off season I.e. Tampa picking up flip. I believe us to be the best team in our division, but we will see. I like our off season moves. Still wish we 're signed Brunner but we will be ok
-
right that is what I meant by explain... again saying the same things you keep saying. How is someone who is a righty and loves to shoot and can score truly expendable, even on the third line he is awesome. You can't tell me guys like Miller or Eaves, or even Tootoo are less expendable than him. For a team in need of scoring, getting rid of a potential 20-30 goal scorer is a bit ridiculous
-
You keep saying the same thing over and over, we get it you're not his biggest fan. But you are not responding with anything of value. You just say Brunner is expendable after a long analysis of why he isn't a proper response would give reasons why you think he is expendable. Otherwise your comments are completely and utterly useless

Goose and Andy are out of waiver options this year

So not voth flugenstein?

When did . Say every team has a sense of entitlement? Please quote me, I recall saying the penguins have a sense of entitlement, which is very true.
-
They went to a team with terrible defense, terrible leadership, and players with a giant overly inflated sense of self entitlement, that is why they did not win a cup, not because the want was not there. We know we have much better leadership in hockeytown, hard work and determination, and everyone who puts the winged wheel on puts aside their own personal ego or they don't play. Alfie and Weiss wanting a cup just may be what we need to push us over the top, we were pretty damn close to the conference finals last year with a worse team, with less experience. Now we have more experience and we beefed up, we are bringing Stanley home in 2013-2014, mark it! Edit: How many people have complained about how this team has become stagnant over the past few years? Kenny has finally shaken things up, he has brought up some youth, drafted all 6' + prospects this year, and he has brought in a better center to fill fils skates, and a still very good winger in Alfie. But there is no winning over the LGW armchair gm's right...
-
Difference is, our "can't miss prospects" are guys like Nyquist, Tatar, Smith, Frk, Jurko, Ouellet, Sproul. Most of those guys will either be top 6 forwards or top 4 defensemen, oh and then there is DK
-
Signing Alfie, brings leadership, skill, and experience to the locker room and ice. He is still good for around 20-25 goals. I think Weiss will flourish here, he will show flip how to play with good line-mates, and the only category flip has him beat in is back-checking but Weiss is better every other way. Sign Nyquist, Andy, and Smith and I think this team seriously is a cup contender again. Let's win that cup for Alfie that he always wanted, and make Flip regret being so greedy and walking. Fixed.
