Yes Smith had a poor half season. We all saw what he was capable of in 2011-2012 though and I unlike most here apparently am quite confident it will turn around for him this year and he will be solid for us. There was way to much pressure on our entire defensive core this year, and with dekeyser on the back end now everything should settle down

Difference is the penguin team has imploded every year in the playoffs since winning in 09 and they have no valuable leadership. Combine that with trading away your already thin farm team every year and you are heading for failure every year

That's my problem, i would be ok signing a two year 9 million dollar deal for him. I think I would be worried we would get the 2010-2011 clarkson, not the 2011-2012 Clarkson

Clarkson has one good season and one pretty good half season. Hardly worth the money he will command for a one dimensional scorer who may or may not have peaked

1.5 he scored 12 goals in 2010-2011, 30 last year and 15 in 48 games this year. Hardly a proven goal scorer And his assists are abysmal
