I am happy for vladdy, he was an awesome defensemen, and would have been a hofer. He was a warrior on the ice and is a warrior off the ice. It is such a shame that some people can be so irresponsible, and destroy someones career like that. Keep it up Vladdy, you get stronger every day!

I just want to point out, if we won all of our shootouts like last year or even like 5 out of the 7 we lost we would be top 5 in the conference still, that is how close it is, and that is the difference. We will make the playoffs, and I predict we at least make it to the second round. Franzen and Nyquist have been heating up, and I think Z will be a force in the playoffs and Datsyuk will obviously be great, and if Howie keeps up his stellar play in the post season we have nothing to worry about

Agree to disagree I suppose, while I do agree Kenny has made some questionable signings, I like that we are rebuilding and still within reach of a playoff position, and with a deep draft upcoming I am happy he didn't trade our picks away anyways. We all would love to see the wings win another cup, but I would rather it not come at the expense of our teams future. Nyquist is looking great, Tatar had a great run, Sheahan will be a great physical grinder. We have Frk, Pulkinin, Jurco, Sproul, Ouellet, Mrazek, Patterson and others in the pipeline that could potentially be stars one day, so I like the way our future team could look.

I left out LA because they won't be in a cap crunch, LA did a good job of getting good talent at a low cost, Pittsburgh gave up draft picks in a deep draft, but moreso put themselves in a position that they have to unload cap in the summer. That is what I am reffering to, the teams that made big trades for a cup run, but won't be able to hold on to them because of the cap going down, which is the position we would have been in had we traded for someone

Brunner, Dekeyser and Tootoo have not been a waste of time, just because he makes a few mistakes does not mean you need focus all your attention on them. Would you rather he sell the farm to get a couple rentals? all these "big name" teams right now will not win the cup, maybe one will, but think about how many of them will be losing pieces next year, Vancouver, Chicago, NYR, Minnesota, Montreal, Pittsburgh, San Jose,and especially Philly desperately need to lose 2-6 million in cap space next season, all these big trades and signings only help them this year and maybe next, but these teams trade away a bunch of picks, and prospects to get all these players the LGW gm's say we should have gotten and they won't be nearly as good next year, whereas we will have some cap space, and won't have the issue of desperately trying to get under the cap, if you ask me, Kenny was smart to not be taken like a fool for a rental or two. And no we didn't need Bouwmeester, and Dekeyser is looking great

If we won every game left we wouldn't have to worry about someone getting hot. Either way, we were playing better when we were worse, if that makes sense. When our defense couldn't clear pucks or anything, our offense KNEW we needed to keep scoring. Now that our D has vastly improved, our D has gotten lazy and comfortable just putting it in cruise control

I am one of the biggest howie supporters on these boards, and even I know that you cannot compare Brodeur to Howard, Brodeur is the much better goalie hands down. Even at 41 I think Brodeur has an edge on him. The only goalie I would would ever compare with Brodeur is Roy

he has consistently showed that he cannot play defense without creating blatent turnovers, bad passes, he can't skate well, and he sure as heck cannot put up points so far this year... explain to me why he should get the go ahead before any other dmen? he is not playing well so he shouldn't get to play

good for howie, hopefully next year monster will step up and take some of the load off for jimmy, he deserves a good rest once in a while, people say heis brilliant some games and mediocre in others, well you try playing 3-4 nhl games/week and being brilliant in every one, when was the last game Jimmy didn't have to start? he has started the last 6 games without relief, and has 14 goals against in those 6 games, including the debacle in chicago where he got pulled after allowing 4 goals. he deserves a good contract, he has earned it, good on ya jimmy!

NTC usually depends on the stipulations, the player must provide a list of teams he is either willing to go to, or refuses to go to, depending on the NTC he has. The player can only be traded to a player approved team A NMC means the player can choose to waive it, but he really doesn't have to and can wait out his contract until the NMC clause passes or his contract is up.
