Just because Edmonton may want to re-sign him, does not mean he wants to re-sign. So their best bet would be to move him if he tells them he won't re-sign, and they know the wings would PROBABLY give up a first round pick for him, so you never know

You don't realize what helm TRULY brings to this team, aside from being the best 3rd line center in the nhl, he brings a lot of energy and heart every shift, every game. Every line literally plays better when he is in the lineup, he just causes everyone else to play better. Ever noticed how deflated we became against trashville when Helm got injured in the playoffs in his first game back, ya I believe that we lost the series as soon as Helm fell on that skate.

I would prefer a first pairing of kronwall-smid, he would open up space for kronwall to be more like the Kronwall of years past. Then Ericsson-Smith for a good second pairing

no. we had two pretty decent goalies in the regular season (ozzie and hasek both past their primes), with a super team in front of him, then he got real bad in the playoffs and ozzie took over and got hot at the right time.

I think he is learning the game, in Sweden he could get away with long range shots, he is adapting but old habits die hard. Next year you will see the "real" Brunner, and I can guarantee it will be even more impressive then the one this season. But for arguments sake, I believe it will be the more creative and skilled one that goes deep into corners, watvh how creative he is in swiss league highlight videos

We are currently sitting in 5th in the conference, I would rather trade prospects and picks then one of the best dmen in the league (believe it or not) He is second among dmen in scoring, He has been a +6 since his awful start, and he is really figuring out his role since #5 left. This was known to be a TRANSISTION season, not a rebuild, we are bring younger, bigger, faster guys up. We all knew that we wouldn't be the top team in the league, let them make their mistakes it is the only way to learn, there is no need to to hit the panic button every time we get scored on, or lose a game.

Holland may sign guys like sammy or quincey to 3+ but he won't pay 5mil for fil. Also there is a lot of talk of Holland agressively trying to trade for players, I would love for them to somehow someway get Ovie, so Ovie and datsyuk can play together, could you imagine that? The most explosive line in the NHL for sure

On 97.1 the ticket, they are talking about Datsyuk leaving soon, apparently a "source close to detroit" is saying that. Until #13 confirms it, it's still a rumour

well we agree on something, filppula shouldn't get 5mil, and Ovechkin is underperforming. Ovechkins cap hit is 9.5 because every year he makes between 9-10 mil. Ovechkin doesn't make 12 mil any year, Crosby does and when he is 35 he will be making 3mil. If you take out the last 3 years of hiis contract his cap hit is 10.56 mil. Any team he went to would have circumvented the cap the same way, Crosby isn't taking a "team discount" the team was circumventing the cap so they could pay him the money he was commanding but not have a crazy cap hit. Zetterberg has the same thing in his contract, that was why they had the lockout, to try and save them from themselves

I would rather have that last year and a half with Datsyuk then ship him off for a few picks and some prospects. I wouldn't even want Perry in return for him, I want Datsyuk to only play for the wings, cause I am just that selfish. If we aren't a cup contender with Datsyuk, we won't be with perry either, so if we have to rebuild anyways I want to at least see Datsyuk in the winged wheel for another year, I would cry if he was on another nhl team
