chicago wins 3-0, njd win 3-1. Chicago has 22 points in 12 games, only losses they have are shootouts. They have a point in 2 games a piece and 2 points in each of the other 10 games, by far the hottest team right now. NJD have 19 points in 12 games with only 1 regulation loss and 3 ot losses. NJD are the team that have shocked me the most so far, especially after losing Parise, I suspected they would be decent, and maybe just make the playoffs, but they have been outstanding thus far. (I bet Parise is starting to second guess himself now) Wings have looked good lately after a slow and rocky start they seem to be back in game shape, and the defense seems to be finally starting to figure out life without lids. Overall starting better than I expected, I am still sticking to my pre season prediction of a top 4 spot in the west to finish the season

Osgood was good in the playoffs you are right there, but did ozzie ever have a .920 or .924 save percentage in a full season? did he ever finish a season with 2.13gaa after coming back from an injury and not playing as well, because howie did all of those in the past three years, and he was on pace to finish last season well under 2 goals against before being injured. Teams like NYI then were pretty much on par with the mid level teams of todays nhl

Z is trending downwards? Silly me, I thought he was 3rd in the league in scoring with 18 points in 12 games... or 1.5ppg. I must have mistaken him for someone else. I also thought dats was over a ppg with 13 points in 12 games, must be wrong there too...

this. I have been saying since last year how much better he has become, and every game he seems to improve. It's nice too see others noticing it finally to, way to go Big Rig on the winning goal!

Seriously? Ozzie is better than howie? this was a joke right? very few times in Osgoods career did he put up numbers as good as howie has in his first three years, and you can't argue that he had a MUCH better team in front of him, the fact that you would even consider ozzie to be better than howie is laughable. I loved ozzie, but c'mon he was shaky at best most nights, how many times did he need to be bailed out?

See the difference is, aside from last year JMac never had a good year playing goalie. Howard has had 3 good years, and the circumstances under which he backstopped the isles and made 42 saves was completely different. You're not factoring in fatique from playing 20 hours before, a shortened season in which you play on average every other day, and jimmy has started all but 1 game. He just came off a 9 month break and didn't have his timing back yet for his first 5 or 6 starts... so many variables, but your right, comparing MacDonald (who was jimmys backup) and Jimmy is such a good idea

Ya I was jumping up and down when we won, but honestly as soon as I saw Quick's face I felt pretty bad for the guy. He played one of his best games of the year, and to have a goal squeek by him like that with 4 seconds left was probably just crushing for him. The whole team played probably their best game of the year, but they were up against a hot goalie, they tied it late, they were thinking they would get at least a point out of it, but they had another heart wrenching loss. The kings play tomorrow too, they will be exhausted

He starts out at half speed, that way he can maintain his slow stride all game long, by the end of the game he looks fast compared to the other wings lol

I have a feeling Howie is playing against Edmonton because they have more firepower, and have been playing much better than LA. Mrazek will probably get the start against the struggling kings. (I wish Howie would though so we could settle the debate on if Quick or howie is the better goalie... *cough* howie *cough*)

sorry I stopped reading when you we need an elite dman who can play 30-35 minutes per game...? Jack johnson from columbus averages 28:30/game, that is the highest in the league, followed by Karlsson at 27:59. Kronwall is 23rd at 24:53/game. What you are saying is there are no "elite" dmen in the nhl cause no one averages 30+ minutes a game?

I was over exaggerating yes, but I was annoyed about looking around the boards and seeing every person whining about how we were losing because of howie. Howie is a great goalie, and people take it for granted,and blame everything on him and start Howard=Average threads, it's just annoying. He has by far been the most consistent player on the wings, and aside from Z has been the best

He calls him Kuba because of his first name, Jakub. It's the nickname that most of the wings and Babs use for Kindl I agree spearing is cheap, but Perron definitely deserved it. Him and Backes were checking from behind and playing dirty all night. He was sick of it, but he should have dropped the gloves and pummeled him! hahahahhaahhahahahahaha..... hahahahahahhahahahahahaha..... hahahahahahahahahaha IN YOUR FACE! what you don't realize here is Flip has been one of our better players so far this season, so what if he looked a little off for the first 2/3 of the game tonight, so did Datsyuk, should we trade him if we want to be "elite"? Flip has 7 points in 10 games, that is very respectable, should we trade Brunner? He only has 7 points in 10 games too... I love going through the earlier pages after the game to see dumb things people post, why don't you let the professionals decide who should be on our team, if it was up to you we would be trading players mid game and end up looking like Columbus
