First of all, aside from how well he is playing in the AHL right now, did you not watch any of the games last season that he came in and played a top-6 position? He looked like someone who had been playing in the NHL for a few years, he has great senses, he is very responsible with the puck, soft hands, and he came in mid season jumping around the lines and still managed 7 points playing games here and there and never having time to really get chemistry going on any particular line. Put him in from the start and I will guarantee 40 points at least in his rookie season (82 games) or 20-25 points in 48 games.

Trust me I know how ridculous it is, but I never liked trading our 1st round pick for him to begin with. I never really thought he fit our team, and he proved that last year as well. We will see how he does now starting in our training camp, but like I said I thought it was a bad a desperate move by Holland to pick up Quincey last year, and he should just bite the bullet and buy him out if he does not produce. He takes too many penalties, he gives up pucks far too easy, and he doesn't have very much offensive prowess. Close the loop

Like I said no logic or reasoning. I responded explaining they were injury plagued. Prior to that they were fighting for top spot in the west the entire way, plus they were 3 points off of 5th in the league and 2 points off of 6th even with injuries plaguing half the team at once. with a 48 game season, and no Lidstrom 6th in the league is a very real possibility.

order a new one, changing the old one is like changing lidstroms A-C, it's not right. He was not captain when you slopped pizza and beer on yourself while screaming at ericsson or hudler for losing a puck while Lidstrom was captain. You should definitely order a new one that you can get new stains on while he is captain!

You're right... we were 8th best. We were in the top 3 for most of the season, unfortunately we became injury plagued and had half our team replaced by grand rapids players. we hung in at 6th place league wide for quite some time, ultimately still finishing with a very respectable 102 points even with all our injuries. I think if we stay healthy 6th place should be easily attained.

I would also like to point out, I forgot about this kid, as I am sure many others have. Danny Dekeyser will quite possibly be picking a team to join this summer so after the 48 game season we could possibly have a future all-star if he chooses to join our team, food for thought.

Franzen would have been worth about 6mil in free agency this off season, I stand by the fact that anyone who can score 30+ goals for us is worth 4mil.

I have been saying I am not worried since august. The way I see it, yes we DID lose the perfect human.I am not overly concerned about the loss of Stuart considering Ericsson played just as well as him last year and towards the end you could tell he didn't want to be there anymore. Lidstrom does leave a big hole to fill, but if you look at all the other teams defense there is very few that are as good as our defense is all around. With the addition of one great dman we would qrguably have the best D in the league.

Holland JUST signed Colaiacovo, Tootoo, Sammy, Monster, Brunner, and re-signed Bert. If Brunner doesn't pan out his contract will be done at years end anyways. Bertuzzi won't be bought out unless he completely tanks this season. Sammy and Colaiacovo would really have to screw up to get bought out right after being signed, along with Monster. Tootoo just needs to get under the other teams skin to stay on our team. My choice would be Quincey (if we can pick up a decent d-man and a #1-3 dman) and Abdelkader. I like that Mursak and Kindl will be done after this year assuming they do not re-sign him, and I like Colaicovo. He is a solid d-man in his own end works hard and does his job, if (and thats a big IF) he can stay healthy for the majority of the season he could definately be a #3-4 dman for us.

I never said Datsyuk should wear the "C" (as much as I would love o see it) Zetterberg is the obvious choice. If Datsyuk wanted to be Captain, he WOULD have learned to speak english fluently, everyone knows he does not want to be captain though. Filppula wouldbe my choice, although Helm definitely should be very highly considered, considering he is the heart of the team.

He already does that lmao. Yes Homer did have better broken english, but I am not offended, he came here for one purpose, to make our team better. He has done that ten fold, do I wish he COULD speak more fluently? sure, do I care enough to be offended? It is screwed up for me too,, has been for a bit now. I do not agree Holland overpaid in comparison to the deals being shelled out this off season. This summer every player was worth more money and in order to aquire them they had to pay the going rate. Supply and demand. I like Tootoo, and I think he will do a good job for us. Only thing I dont like is that now I'm going to have to hear Mick and Murph's Tootoo jokes wayyyy more.

That's more like Hudler stats though. that would be around 25 goals and 50 points in an 82 game season. I predict it being more like 15 goals and 40 points in a 48 game season... just my thoughts

I hate the uncertainty behind so many players, but with Datsyuk playing so well, Z and Brunner tearing it up, and Filppula was playing great before injury I think we have a pretty great team ready to go if all turns out well. That depends on how good colaicovo and smith are for us too. I think Minnesota is pretty well set as well as the rangers.

Well they have the framework done, so we will be having hockey. We don't have much to worry about in buyouts since our cap hit is $61,442,045. The cap for next season is $64.3 million. The only reason we would have to buy out a player is if someone becomes available that we want that would cost us more than $3 million a season. So everyones hopes of franzen being gone are almost completely null and void now. Not to mention he clearly is worth every penny for a 30 goal scorer, even if he does slack off half the season.
