NHL submits offer to NHLPA - **Suspension Warning Post #70 & #273*

I would like to believe that is true, but thus far everything Bettman has said has been idle threats and false truths -
you're wrong, I know who I posted a picture of. http://www.nhl.com/ice/player.htm?id=8465091#&navid=nhl-search http://blackhawks.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=47701 EDIT: I wanted to clear this up, they honored the 75th anniversary team by wearing the patch

That would be terrible, some please explain a scenario in which an extra 4 teams in the playoffs even works out. 2 extra teams in each conference works out to 10 teams, so eliminate half after first round, that's 5 teams left, what do you do with the extra team? 4 extra teams per conference is 12 teams which means it will go down to 6 teams then 3, again what do you do with the extra team? -

Bert just had his contract renewed, and sammy just signed on, I doubt we will buy them out, we will wait to see who is under achieving then make an assessment -

You have that backwards, it takes 8 votes to keep Bettman, 23 votes to can him... -

I believe the PA will respond with a reasonable offer to the NHL. Whether they choose to accept or continue negotiations after said offer remains to be seen. I just want a season to start. -

Obviously you forget that they were swept by the Devils in the finals... It doesn't matter that they made it to the finals if they got swept, remember the shame in the tigers loss this year...

The deadline for a deal is January 11, with training camps starting January 12. It would be 1 week training camps with the season starting the 19. I think a more realistic starting date at this point is probably September, considering the way talks (or lack thereof) have gone so far.Either way a 48 game season is ALMOST not worth watching, I have been watching minor hockey, and if not for Datsyuk and Zetterberg, and the uncertainty behind Brunner I wouldn't even want to see a 48 game season.
-
I disagree. I think this is do or die, they won't wait till January 14 to cancel the season because they want a one week training camp. I believe this is the owners last ditch effort to save a half season, if the players counter their proposal it will probably be rejected and the season cancelled (maybe I am wrong though) either way this is what Fehr was waiting for, this is the best offer the owners will give out now.

I had come in here to post the same article. I do not want to get my hopes up, but this is it, either they accept it or were locked out...
-
Datsyuk did it first The last one is more fun to watch

YOU are absolutely right Seriously though this lockout has annoyed me beyong belief, and therefor I will no longer be participating in any lockout discussioons until Fehr and Bettman get their heads out of their own ...
-
You should be ashamed... you should have told him you would donate money if he gave you his best scowl

I doubt Sheehan will ever amount to very much. He can't even be responsible enough outside the rink to take a cab home after drinking. He is slower than Bert on the ice, and really can't do very much... PROVE ME WRONG SHEEHAN, I DARE YOU!
-
Was he chewing gum? And did he just stare at people until they gave up their seats for him?
-
Ya but having grit once in a while doesn't make him a grinder. Tootoo is a known agitator, and good at it. Big or small it doesn't matter if you are able to get under your opponents skin and shift momentum.

This would perhaps raise my hopes a few months ago, or even weeks ago, but after what happened last week I simply think it's all just BS. We had the same type of tweets all over the place last week, when they were actually meeting and getting really close to a deal, and somehow they still managed to screw everything up. I won't believe anything until the midget himself stands on a stool behind the podium and says they have reached an agreement.

bam! lawyered!

Everything so far had gone according to plan, except last week which is why he almost cried on tv, he didn't get his way
-
You're right, they are constantly "given" an opportunity to accept the owners offer or be threatened by removal of offers and breaking up talks...
-
I like this comparison, though I was not trying to compare who conceded more and who did not (obviously the players are losing a lot more than the owners in this CBA) I was merely stating the fact that Bettman keeps saying Fehr is unwilling to concede anything, Fehr does not want to bargain in good faith, blah blah blah, pr bs, and so on... I like that link though it outlines who conceded what, and the only thing conceded by the owners really is CBA term length (assuming they move off the 10 year CBA, which I would actually like to see kept)
