YOU are absolutely right Seriously though this lockout has annoyed me beyong belief, and therefor I will no longer be participating in any lockout discussioons until Fehr and Bettman get their heads out of their own ...

I got to meet Mike Babcock

You should be ashamed... you should have told him you would donate money if he gave you his best scowl

Has your opinion of kenny changed?

I doubt Sheehan will ever amount to very much. He can't even be responsible enough outside the rink to take a cab home after drinking. He is slower than Bert on the ice, and really can't do very much... PROVE ME WRONG SHEEHAN, I DARE YOU!

Was he chewing gum? And did he just stare at people until they gave up their seats for him?

Ya but having grit once in a while doesn't make him a grinder. Tootoo is a known agitator, and good at it. Big or small it doesn't matter if you are able to get under your opponents skin and shift momentum.

This would perhaps raise my hopes a few months ago, or even weeks ago, but after what happened last week I simply think it's all just BS. We had the same type of tweets all over the place last week, when they were actually meeting and getting really close to a deal, and somehow they still managed to screw everything up. I won't believe anything until the midget himself stands on a stool behind the podium and says they have reached an agreement.

You're right, they are constantly "given" an opportunity to accept the owners offer or be threatened by removal of offers and breaking up talks...

I like this comparison, though I was not trying to compare who conceded more and who did not (obviously the players are losing a lot more than the owners in this CBA) I was merely stating the fact that Bettman keeps saying Fehr is unwilling to concede anything, Fehr does not want to bargain in good faith, blah blah blah, pr bs, and so on... I like that link though it outlines who conceded what, and the only thing conceded by the owners really is CBA term length (assuming they move off the 10 year CBA, which I would actually like to see kept)

I'll let that one slide Cameron... this time (but Dats is number 1)

No because the players are the ones going from 57% salary to 50%, they are the ones who are losing money on contracts the owners signed, they are the ones giving up certain contracting rights in order to protect owners from themselves. Yet after all this Bettman continually states the players are not making any concessions... seems fishy to me as well

While this is true, the only real way to avoid this in the future is to send them a message now showing them we won't tolerate another lockout

I don't think we ever really disagreed, we just misinterpreted what the other said EDIT: or as the nhl/pa would say we were very close to a deal, but we differed on a few key issues which has caused us to break off talks for the next month

I agree with you, but I don't think throwing a temper tantrum and walking away was the right move, they should have said if you want 8 year deals and an 8 year cba then you get $240million on the make whole instead of 300

You misrepresented what I said, I don't care who is right or wrong I just want hockey. I think it is wrong for Bettman and Jacobs to throw temper tantrums and storm away yelling no more meetings because the PA tried to negotiate off their last proposal. If the PA did the same thing I would say they were being childish too. It seems everytime they get close to a deal Bettman gets fed up and stops negotiations.

Nor does anyone else, the players agreed to the owners 300million make whole, the pension plan, the 50/50. The problem is the players chose to NEGOTIATE off the owners last proposal and ask for 8 year contract limits instead of 5, and an 8 year cba with an opt out option after 6 years instead of 10 year cba with a opt out at 8 years.

This is complete and utter bulls*&^!!!! I left for work earlier thinking that we were so close to a season starting (but not getting my hopes up yet) and I knew somehow things could get screwed up because it IS the nhl were talking about. I come home from work, grab a beer and expect to read all about how wonderful it is they finally agreed to a deal and once again I feel like the owners and the PA have taken a huge dump on me! Thanks owners for making your offer non negotiable, and thanks Fehr for cnstantly instilling false hope in your players.

I just hope this does not fall apart because of contract length and 90 million dollars... they are so close to a deal it's ridiculous. The owners even caved on RFA and entry level restrictions, and extended maximum contract lengths to 7 years if you are re-signing on a team... EDIT: I find it funny how the moment Fehr and Bettman rejoin the talks everythings seemingly is falling apart... must just be a coincidence though...

Nhl negotiations are like a drinking game; 1. you make up the rules as you go along 2. most times before you can seal a deal someone gets fed up and goes home 3. you end up regretting it, someone loses all their money, and the game gets ruined for everyone 4. and you do it all again next weekend forgetting what happened the last time you did it...
