Hank replacing Devereaux too? I always wish Z came up a year earlier. It's probably best he didn't but it would've been fun.

    Valteri Flippula

Flip played wing. Wing plays deeper, gets more chances, plays less defense. If you look at how he played he was going harder to the net, playing behind the goal line, trying to generate more offense. Watch when he played C. Exact same player, same everything, he just didn't go too deep and often was at center ice by the time the other team even got out of their own zone. Of course it's going to lead to less offense doing that.

    Update on realignment

I can vouch for this. Arizona is the hip trend if you can't afford or for some reason dislike the Okanagan.

^Good call on cujo, I totally forgot about him. He deserved so much better than what our laziness delivered him.

Replacing Flip for Nyquist and seeing no difference? Maybe offensively and that's being generous but Flip's defensive game is so overlooked, even by Wings fans.

    Time to sit Ian White

^That's a nice ideal but it's not what happened.

If we're passing blame, look at Brunner first. He completely goofed on the play at the blue line. I'll give him some slack he's not a defenseman and it's his first year but regardless that's what started the play. Fast forward to the 2 on 1, which really became a 2 on 2 when Abby got back and took the puck carrier. Kronwall's job was man to man on the guy without the puck. He took him. That went to pot fast when Abby got deked out of his skates. As soon as that happened it became a very condensed 2 on 1 with the puck carrer getting a clear lane to the net. Granted he falls but there's a split second after he dekes Abby and before he falls where he's on his feet and has a clear lane to the deadliest area of the slot. Kronwall had to abandon the pass to keep him from getting the shot off. If it were more of an angle I'd say take the pass but it was dead on, almost automatic goal territory. Kronwall prioritized pretty well, he was just screwed. Look how far out Howard was, that a simple pass from the center to the faceoff dot leading to a slow one timer beat him. He had to be far out because of the chance that was forming after Abby fell. In the end I'm glad he was the only one responsible enough to do his job. Brunner started it and Abby sent it off the rails. Kronwall ended up looking horrible for it.

I'm just going for pure unbeatability. That's probably not a word. Zetterberg - Yzerman - Shanahan Hull - Datsyuk - Fedorov Hossa - Larionov - Primeau McCarty - Helm - Draper Holmstrom (PP, wherever) Lidstrom - Konstantinov Chelios - Coffey Fischer - Murphy Fetisov (tough to leave out Raf) Hasek Osgood Howard

Sens Karlsson suffers lacerated Achilles tendon

Nah! I didn't know about gravity until now! Man, to think I've just been lowering my legs to the ground normally. I've clearly been doing it wrong, I should be kicking my heel down like I'm trying to crack the ice. I don't buy the balance thing, he was lowering his leg normally until he made a conscious decision to kick his heel. Now maybe he did that and didn't intend for it to do anything, that's the part that I'd debate since it's possible.

State of Hockey; High school drama

I probably would if you kept repeating the same thing over and over to me like I didn't get it the first time. I get it.

Sens Karlsson suffers lacerated Achilles tendon

Both scenarios are plausible. To me if he would've just brought his leg into Karlsson without the extra little (very intentional looking) heel stomp I'd be fine. And it's not to say I think he meant to cut him on the leg and injure him. I don't think it's black or white or easy to label innocent or guilty. I think it's a dirty grey area where Cooke made a snap decision to give him a little jolt in the leg and it backfired.

Will the NHL Ever Go to a Wider Rink?

They already tried to change the game quite a bit after the lockout with one of the biggest goals being limiting or getting rid of the very thing you said was part of the game.

Like I said I'd rather wait. You wouldn't. You make assumptions. I don't. Good for you. Move along.

I bought the whole thing until the heel kick. I see that play happen a lot. What I don't see are guys kicking their heel right into another player.

Babcock: Is he the right guy going forward?

Being honest I think the vast vast majority of Wings fans online are too emotional and prone to overreacting after losses to talk about this rationally. I never see these topics after a win.

Will the NHL Ever Go to a Wider Rink?

^Lol no one has to build new arenas to accommodate wider rinks. A lot of things were "part of the game" before we installed some fresh brains and got rid of them.

I was gonna say that lol. You pass a joint, you don't pass ON a joint.

Sens Karlsson suffers lacerated Achilles tendon

I wake up today and everyone is calling it an accident. Lebrun, etc. The league won't even look at it. Bulls***. If he was simply just bringing his foot down, he'd bring it down straight like a normal human being who has used skates for more than a few months. Look at the way he kicks his ankle like he's heel stomping something. I don't care if he wasn't looking at it (we don't know where his eyes are looking) he still looks like he intentionally stomped down, he just didn't care where. He doesn't need to be aiming to one specific area to make it intentional What else was he trying to do? The other foot was wide out. Where would he have hit if he wasn't trying to hit Karlsson? Why would anyone kick their ankle like that into an angle that would've smacked it for no reason into the board? He wouldn't have even hit the yellow line, he would've, for no apparent reason, kicked the boards pretty high. I know the only conceivable thing would be that he was trying to pin Karlsson but it's possible to do that without stomping down with your heel.

2/13 GDT : St. Louis Blues 4 at Red Wings 3 (OT)

Oh shut up, seriously. You're officially past the point of no return. He'll never please you. One was a breakaway and you're blaming him for that? Stop watching hockey.

Don't worry I'm watching. I'm noticing Kindl tonight in a bad way. PP tying goal Kindl just lost his man randomly. Breakaway he let his man behind him. I've seen people calling him our best defender along with E. Not tonight. Not in the least.
