I always thought of Tampa as my East team before Detroit made the move. Not sure how this will go but man I really hope Tampa stomps all over these pukes. Can't stand teams that sit on high draft picks to get their core players and can't stand Chicago. Hopefully they come through!

I'm sure it's nothing, but god I really hope this doesn't mean he only wanted to stay if Babcock was coach and now he wants to retire and play his last years in Russia. Not sure I could take that just yet.

I also thought that was good reason for not upping the term of the offer. Especially when he said just making the playoffs isn't the goal. I hope maybe they can add some pieces to make the next coach's transition a little easier.

I saw it as a good thing as well. Someone needs to tell Kenny how it is. We need a guy or two that's going to be able to step up and replace Dats and Z talentwise pretty much now. We can't have these two guys retire and be a team with no star players, then no one will really want to come here.

I just find his dirty antics tiring. Especially when he looks so surprised and upset he's getting called for it. I'm not saying the guy isn't extremely talented, he is. Getting under people's skin is one thing, but crap like that slash the other day is just the tip of the ice berg that makes me not like him as a player. He reminds me a lot of Suh. Really dirty player, doesn't take responsibility for his cheap shots, extremely talented, seems like a nice guy off the ice. So I gotta root for the Lightning on this one.

If you trade Howard and improve the defense in front of Mrazek, it'll make Mrazek's job a lot easier, and can help his development without risking losing games due to rookie mistakes. I think it'd be best if we move Howard to improve other areas and sign a serviceable veteran to back him up.

Well now that the Wings are done, he's got a few ringers available (Jurco, Marchenko, Mrazek). I think they'll be okay.

I have to respectfully disagree. This recurring injury of his is too much of a risk, plus he's old as hell. We need young guys entering or in their prime, not guys shopping for retirement homes. That's what has repeatedly gotten this team in trouble. Don't sign any FA's over 31.

Package Howard with any combo choice of Weiss, Ericsson, Smith's rights, and Kindl for someone worth having. They're all dead weight and this team needs a serious fat trimming.

What makes you think Babs is presumably packing up and leaving? And it's either him or Blashill. Blashill has earned it and put in his time to be next in line. Fixed that for you. Our team will be the best conditioned team in the league and he'll teach these kids how to play with a nasty side.

I read on NHL.com that Cole replace Ericsson in line rushes in practice. I find that odd since they have Kindl or Smith, who actually play D to replace him. Anyone hear anything else about this?

Did anyone really expect to beat the Bruins when we ice Andersson, Cleary, and Weiss?? I was actually surprised we were winning 2-0 at one point. Something needs to change with this team, and start by cutting the fat.
