Agreed. Wish they'd quit trying to stifle anyone's offensive ability to mold them into a Selke Trophy player. Adjust the system to the players you have and let Larkin be himself. Seems to be working ok for Mantha.

A lock out of the rest of the season. Those two teams and Bettman's love for them makes me puke.

I'd agree with you there. I voted Seabrook. I think losing him would hurt more than the rest of the options.

Just seems crazy to me. About the only time you see that in America is some primadonna football player, and even they've dialed it way back in that sport. -
The one that surprised me, since I haven't looked at stats lately, is Larkin was leading the team in goals. I haven't been able to watch as much this year, and just going by this forum I wouldn't have guessed he was anywhere near the top.

If he actually said these things, wow. That's quite an honest interview. Most athletes won't give the media much into what's going on inside the locker room and off the ice. He just lays it all out there. -

Exactly. Especially being out of market, it's really hard to get a viewing of these games. What I've seen this year has been insanely boring hockey. Like puts me to sleep. I'll watch them if it's convenient, but there are other teams right now that are way more fun to watch. I also won't be making plane trips to Detroit to see a game if they're just going to mail it in like they seem to have been doing. If that makes me a bad fan then so be it.

Saw on twitter Blash told Ansar he made a "coach's decision" to bench AA in the 3rd. I'd link it but I'm at work right now. I missed the 3rd, any merit for AA getting benched?

I know Larkin hasn't been playing that well but yeesh, putting him with Sheahan and Glendening? He's getting Weiss'ed real early in his career.

As far as free agents go, Holland took the reigns when players wanted to come here just to come here. He never had to sell players on anything for the longest time because the team's roster and record spoke for itself. Now he has to try to convince players to come to Detroit and I don't think he's very good at selling it.

I think you're right. After his first win this year he was talking to reporters, sounds like last year he had a hard time accepting it, especially hearing how him and Mrazek didn't talk a whole lot outside the rink after being good friends. I think he's come around to accepting his new role and is in a good place mentally.
