Sounds like the price tag for Vanek. Definitely an overpayment imo. However Gaborik should have been had for the price tag Columbus gave up.

No disagreements here. I don't see Ryan being available until this summer. O'Reilly would have to be done in a 3 team deal. Colorado won't deal with us even though the rivalry is over and they suck. -

Kenny just can't win with some of you lol. I don't agree with everything he does (which know one actually cares), but this is a good news ladies and gents. A) he realizes we need two top players. B) he just isn't going to throw away our 1st pick in this deep draft. -

Pulock is filthy I agree. I have watched him quite a bit. I would prefer we draft Shinkaruk, Mantha, Zykov, Domi, or Rychel in that order where we are going to be drafting at. Unless we miss the playoffs, the lottery isn't actually rigged, and a miracle happens which lands us a top 3 pick. I don't believe in any of those being true or happening tho...

The problem with those guys is they are still a few years away from contributing. Jarnkrok may provide a scoring punch next year, but drafting a high-end scoring forward, that will be available in the 1st, is paramount. -

We have enough D in the system. Our problems recently have been primary scoring by our top 6.

For Kenny not wanting to trade his 1st pick this year shows that he is in retooling mode imo. Also there is very little that separates the 5th pick and 20th in talent so why would you trade it? Unless it is a one for one for a Gaborik type which won't happen.

Flashy, I agree that there is separation between the top 5 and everyone else. However there are quite a few names outside of them that could turn out to be stars. Lindholm, Shinkaruk, Mantha, and Domi come to mind.
