trade Red Wings acquire Erik Cole, conditional 3rd from Stars
Sabaton617 replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Cole was just interviewed on NHL Network. Said he wasn't surprised he was traded, thinks his speed will fit in good with Wings transition game and will practice with Wings tomorrow. -

Sound is fine on my end, I've heard every "very, very" from Osgood tonight. -
signed Quincey re-signed by DET. 2 yr s $4.25 mill AAV
Sabaton617 replied to haroldsnepsts's topic in General
Great, another year of the Wings have to kill a penalty in the last minutes of a game because Quincey is sitting in the penalty box. -
I'm sure I'll be in the minority but I'd rather have great forwards and average defense with the caveat of having an above average goalie and the forwards are responsible on defense. Based on this series against Boston, if you can't score no matter how good your defense plays, you're still gonna lose.

Not being from Detroit, what are the plans for Joe Louis Arena? Will it be razed? If so, is there any discussion of using the same name for the new arena?

It was uncanny how Mickey predicted that the Wings were gonna take a penalty at the end of the game and Lashoff kept crossing checking a Florida player who was falling over the Wings net. I think Lashoff gets away with first cross checks but he kept going at the Florida player who was out of the play.

I voted no mainly because of the injuries this year to several of the forwards on those projected top lines. If this year was just a mirage with the injuries and those forwards are good to go next year, I kinda like the forward lines. Like others have said, need to improve the D.

GDT Alumni Game Lineup / Leafs @ Wings Alumni NBCS and CBC 1pm
Sabaton617 replied to BottleOfSmoke's topic in General
Or when the day comes watching an alumni game with Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Kronwall etc. -
I was thinking same thing. You can actually hear him talk and no stuttering.

To be playoff material: get healthy and consistent goalie play To end bad periods: get healthy and consistent goalie play To be a threat: get healthy, great goalie play, play the best we are capable of playing and hope for subpar goaltending and play from the opponent. By threat if you mean actually a threat to win the Cup and not just making out of first round of playoffs, those are the things the Wings will need.

Red Wings team alone can lock up Obama Care Website.

At this point I want to see Cleary and Samuelsson on the first line for pure entertainment.

I was at game last night. One bright spot was Smith. Like most, his play has frustrated me, and it wasn't anything he did during the game which impressed me. During warmups he tossed a couple of kids who were along the boards pucks and he looked as excited as the kids who got the pucks. Not sure if it something he does at home games.

Down in Florida to escape the frozen tundra of the northern plains and will be at tonight's game and game in Tampa. Will be surreal going to hockey games amongst the palm trees and 80 degree weather. I think I could get used to it though. Go Wings!!!

There are two angles "the law" can be brought into these instances. Criminally or in civil court. Like most said above, I agree that most of the time, it should be left out of criminal court. Not an expert by any means on this topic but not sure why it doesn't happen more, or if at all, where a player sues another player in civil court.

Welcome to Arby's. You say you want free curly fries because Cleary scored a hat trick last night?

Is New Goal-Tracking Technology on the Way?
Sabaton617 replied to cusimano_brothers's topic in General
I'm for the cameras but it doesn't help when the puck is in the goalie's glove or the goalie is covering the puck with his body. I'd like to see the technology using sensors and the goal line so it can be determined using that technology, if the entire puck crosses the goal line. -
Don't worry, that third line will look a lot better in a few years when we bring back Filippula.
-
Agree with those points and tends to be repetitive.

So did Osgood, can he string two sentences together tonight without messing up?
-
Thanks, hope all goes well for him.

Why is Ericcson out?

Howard stopped the penalty shot and gave up a breakaway goal. If I remember right, Ribiero scored a couple of goals after the puck had bounced around in the slot and he pretty much had open net to shoot at both times. Loss wasn't on Howard. Howard didn't give up any weak goals. Defensive zone faceoff losses are more to blame.
