Helm and Toots, my dream has come true, I'm picturing the both of them running around like the boondock saints lighting people up left and right. I'm hoping that is atleast partly true for the game tonight. I really do think they could have good chemistry together on a line. Some much needed energy.

That was probably the most well rounded and committed game they've played so far this season. Couldn't think of any better way for Helmer to make his comeback, I jumped out of my seat for that one. Tatar was all over the place. Mrazek got his first shutout which was awesome. Sammy was in which was kind of a bummer to see, I'd have rather seen Toots in there or Eaves even. The third line was looking fierce, and Andy getting his goal was a good reward for that. Hank, Pav, and Bert looked like the dream team at times out there. The only player that stuck out as making dumb decisions was Smith, but what else is new.

Awesome graphic! gonna be a good game. Here's to hoping Helmer and Mrazek both play well tonight, I wanna see the kid get a shutout.

Great finish to the game tonight, glad to see some of the secondary guys get on the board too. Always happy to see Joakim put some points up. Definitely looking forward to seeing number 43 on the ice tomorrow, it's been way too long since weve seen that jersey flying around the ice. Pavel was an animal out there this evening as well, although that's nothing new for him.

Is it just me or are we spoiled as Wings fans for getting to watch and cheer for so many legendary players.
-
Some awesome news! So many legends are gonna be on this alumni team. If only they could play more than just one game. I'm gonna have to break out the old dvd's and watch some of the old games to reminisce. Although I'm still hoping and wishing that a certain Captain Stevie gets announced as well. Doesn't hurt to dream I guess.

I'd definitely like to see Toots and Helm on a line at some point, doesn't have to be permanent but I just wanna see the opposing players go flying. It'd just be for my sheer enjoyment, even though it's probably just a pipe dream.

saw this earlier, keeping my fingers crossed

Agreed on the NHL network crap. I paid for Gamecenter so I wouldn't have to resort to spam filled stream sites. Yet I'm forced yet again to go to spam city to find a crap quality stream because the game is blacked out. Although I was just in time to catch Miller's goal, which was nice.

Tootoo is the only interesting player to watch right now. Everyone's looking sloppy tonight
-
I'm just now sitting down to watch the game, 3 to 1? What the helllllll

I'm loving Danny D so far, he's only gonna be getting better. He stepped right in and has been one of the best D-men since they signed him. He was definitely one of the best surprises last season. They better lock him up long term or i'll be pissed.

I saw that on facebook, i'd say he was more than deserving of it. He played lights out and made some amazing saves against some tough competition

Idno about this one. It's got me nervous with our 2 best dmen out for the night. Although with Helmer and Kronwall looming on the horizon does lift the spirits a bit, hopefully Wednesday is the day we see 43 and 55 hit the ice again. Definitely hoping we don't see Sammy tonight, we don't need anymore handicaps as it is.
-
Jebus Christ why did they have to put Sammy in. the guy is a bad omen I swear. Helm needs to hurry up and come back so Sammy can sit like he's supposed to. I'd rather they keep Toots in on the fourth and just let somebody else get some point time on the PP. I mean have we seen any amazing point play from Sammy as of late anyway? If we have then my bad, but I choose to look away when I see him jump onto the ice.

This was a hell of an exciting game to watch, felt a little bit of the old rivalry coming back. Miller dropping the gloves before Toots this season was also a nice surprise, wasn't expecting that at all. To beat such a dominant team like that really sends a message to the league, they took full advantage of all the chances they had out there. Pavel is in a league of his own and Alfie has got assists coming out of his ears at this point, I'm loving it. Although the dirty hit on Kronwall still has me sick to my stomach, and even more so that Glendening got hit after the whistle right next to him. Just pisses me off, if there's no suspension for that hit then I lose faith in Shanny. Absolutely ridiculous, could've really done some serious damage to Kronner. I'd say Tootoo owes that guy an appointment next time these two teams meet.

Well I'm keeping my fingers crossed, this is the closest to having him back that we've had in a really long time. Hopefully he can get back into shape pretty quick. If he does then that adds a hell of a boost to the bottom line depth and the PK

That was a hell of a finish, I was able to catch the last 10 minutes of the 3rd. Just about had a heart attack. Pavel and Z were all over the place, looked like everyone had quite a bit of spring in their step which is awesome. Tukka Rask got bowled over a few times as well which was pretty hilarious

Yeah i'm stuck at work all day today, it starts at 10 am for me. I guess i'll be watching the tail end of it on my lunch break.

Agreed, I love when they have Toots in the lineup. Gives them an extra dimension in my opinion. Makes the other team watch their backs when he's on the ice, and he scares the crap out of them as you can see from that gif. He may rarely score any goals but he brings a boatload of energy and can lay the smackdown when needed.

Not happy about what happened to Toots right at the end there, pretty stupid that Newbury serves an 18 second penalty and thats it. Although I did enjoy seeing Toots give him the death stare and threaten him haha. Hopefully he's okay.

GDT 10/4 GDT : Red Wings 3 at Hurricanes 2 (OT)

I was definitely glad to not see Sammy on the ice for the latter part of the game, he handed the Canes the puck every time he was out there. Weiss definitely earned that goal as well, he was hustling his ass off these first few games. That was a fun game to watch, well.. the end of it atleast. -

I'll most likely be getting it, I would definitely rather watch in HD and have a reliable feed compared to the crappy streams I've watched the past few seasons -
Nyquist is by far my favorite of the younger players, after seeing what he was capable of in the playoffs I'm hoping the staff is able to see the light and let the kid show that he can play in the big leagues.

Thank the lord that hockey is back! Wish I could watch tonight but im out in CA so Wings games are rare out here, unless I can find a halfway decent stream. Does anyone here use NHL Gamecenter? and if so would it be worth it for a California Wings fan like myself to get it. I'm debating it before the regular season starts but im hesitant to donate my 150 bucks to Bettman.
