As someone who watched a little of Kotkaniemi's gameplay so far I'd agree. I will say though that when/if Zadina figures out his game at the pro level, he's going to be significantly more fun to watch. I think Kotkaniemi can be good and looks more ready than I anticipated, but I don't see a huge, dynamic upside there. Zadina on the other hand is a player in the same mold as Kucherov, IMO. It may take him a while to get there (like Kucherov) and he obviously may not be as good, but there's a lot of upside. Of course at the end of the day it's apples/oranges. Good two way center or good scoring winger, be thrilled to have either.

Also being televised on NBCSCHI+ I believe, so there's probably a stream to be found somewhere for those interested.
-
Once again, I believe It's televised in the Boston area, so probably a stream somewhere.
-
I don't disagree. Not sure he'll need the entire year in GR, but if he does It won't bother me in the slightest.
-
I'm curious what your actual thoughts on Zadina are. When you're not memeing your opinions usually seem pretty well thought out, so I'd be interested to hear what you think about him.
-
I think they’re similar right now in that Zadina hasn’t figured out how to create space for himself yet. Pulkkinen wasn’t anywhere near Zadina in terms of defensive awareness though, which I feel like is an undervalued asset for an 18(19?) year old winger. We’re all a little disappointed he didn’t just step right in and light it up, but I’ve been pretty pleased to see that other parts of his game are actually pretty far along already. That’s why even if I don’t think he’s NHL ready, I think he’s reasonably close.

Good way of putting it, looked effortless. Was a solid pass from Glendening too, which was a pleasant surprise.

Zadina finishes it in OT off a feed from Glendening. Hopefully that gives him some confidence for his next game. Was an awesome finish.

This preseason has been my first opportunity to watch Cholowski play. Gotta say, I'm pretty happy with this guy. Doesn't look like a youngster out there at all. couldn't agree more. It's what I like about Charlie McAvoy's game and what I'm thrilled to see in Cholowski's.

Sulak rushing up the ice is an impressive sight, kid can move and does it well with the puck.

D guys are dropping like flies right now. Going to be a weird season opener personnel wise if Green, Daley, DeKeyser and Ericsson all don't play. -
Definitely don't think Zadina's ready, but he's close IMO. Good chunk of the year down in Grand Rapids and I think he's gravy. Also, that AA guy is looking pretty decent right now. He actually looks really strong on the puck compared to last year, dude's eating his spinach or something.
-
IMO AA has looked like he's on another level this preseason. Just seems like a threat every shift. edit: lol he scored

Nice to see the Hawks have their core guys in there. Much prefer a game closer to NHL level for the youngsters.

Yea, it's why I posted this: Also yes, his flow was wild back then, now he's all choppy and robotic. I don't even have the words for the person who thinks he's better now. Easy. edit: Also, RED WINGS. Am I foruming right? -

Oh I noticed the first day you showed up with that account. But does it mean we shouldn't be friends, or does it mean we should be best friends? Also I don't need to be sold on Ras, I'm already on board the train. I actually didn't mind the pick. -

I actually laughed out loud. I am cautiously optimistic about Svechnikov though. I just have this feeling he's going to have a big year. -

That's my concern as well. I'm worried that playing the best isn't as important as already having "paid your dues" in GR in this scenario. I've got nothing against Hicketts and would be okay if it's him + Cholowski that are considered the front runners right now, but the narrative that he's "been the best" doesn't sit well with me. Feels like I'm being prepped for a decision the organization knows everyone's going to be unhappy with. I'm with @krsmith17, in my mind Sulak has the edge over Hicketts. -

I disagree, but maybe I'm missing something. To me, Hicketts' goofs were the largest and most noticeable, and there were a few. -
It's being streamed on the Pittsburgh website, but that's region locked. Otherwise, it's just being called on the radio.

Yikes, that doesn't sound good. I wonder how long this has been a thing and how conditioned he is at this point. Get well, Green. -

I'm actually surprised by the whole "no elite upside" narrative that I was hearing around draft time. He seems to have all the tools at his disposal and considering his age I feel like the sky's the limit.
