    I'm not opposed to trading Jensen, but I do feel (just based on the eyeball test, boys) that his agility, lateral movement and ability to use it to avoid being hemmed into the d zone are really underrated around here. Jensen's replaceable, sure, but what he brings is something Detroit doesn't have a lot of. I still remember the pure frustration in recent memory of watching the Wings utterly fail to leave their own zone.

    I feel you. It was some article I read that was just speculation about whether or not he'd be able to put up points at the NHL level, so admittedly I'm not really down on him, as I haven't looked into him myself as much as some of the other kids. I actually wouldn't be upset if we got him because, like you, I dig Matthew and would love the Wings to get a guy like that.

    I disagree about Carlson being good as Doughty. I concede he's better than Karlsson defensively, but that's not exactly hard to do as that's never been Karlsson's strong point. I'm not going on popularity, though I see why you might think so, I watch as many Capitals games as I can because I'm a big Ovie fan.

    You pretty much summed up my thoughts on how the Wings have been drafting, and it's why I was okay with the Rasmussen pick. I think some folks really underestimate the importance of the right attitude.

    I'm amazed that hit on Oprik wasn't a penalty. He appeared to be completely knocked unconscious after hitting the boards. I won't lie I'm hoping to see someone lay a good hit on Paquette before this one's over.

    I'm not good at guessing what a player's contract might be, so I usually don't try. I will say that I don't think AA would take that deal, based on the last contract negotiation.

    I agree, it just seems like he's referencing Rasmussen like the jury is already out and he was an overrated pick when that clearly isn't the case, yet. I'm also not looking to take Tkachuk. The only forward I'd be okay with is Wahlstrom, otherwise give me one of those promising D prospects.

    I still get nervous when I see Crosby get knocked around. I know he's not real popular around here, but It'd be a shame to see a career like that end early.

    I would definitely buy that. Watching him play I was amazed at his lack of scoring production considering how offensively aware he seemed. He does still put up pretty impressive assist numbers, so if it's by design I'm a little less leery of him. Either way, I'd take Bouchard over both Boqvist or Hughes at this point. But as you said, I wouldn't be unhappy with any.

    Agreed. I'd also add that between the two Boqvist seems to have the better wrister and know how to use it. Otherwise I would say their appeal is pretty similar.
