I think this is stupid for the simple reason that Daley is far and away this team's worst dman imo. I haven't delved into the stats, but just eyeballing it he seems to make the most egregious gaffes at the most consistent level.

I tentatively agree with most of this, though I haven't entirely given up on Cholowski yet. Do you honestly believe Zadina has peaked after 30-something NHL games though? It just seems silly to label a 20 year old player so confidently, so early in his career, when he already seems to fit into a top 6 role. The kid is still riddled with acne all the time, why don't you give him a second to actually turn into a man. Also correct me if I'm wrong but I thought I read somewhere that we weren't taking Hughes regardless and were going to take Bouchard anyways. So even if they didn't "buy into the hype" (I don't believe this happens) it's not like we were guaranteed to be better off. We obviously won't know that for years.

The dude's got Cholowski higher than Hronek and Dekeyser. It's not really accurate.

Perlini is straight garbo. Him and Daley are my new favorite players to hate.

Bummer. I thought I saw him skating funny a couple times, was worried this was the case. This season just keeps getting less and less fun, even when I think It's not possible. It's actually sort of remarkable. I'm scared if I say "well at least we still have Fabbri" he's going to go down too. Well at least AA is ready to step in, hopefully he stops sucking ass now that he's healthy.

I'm happy to find out it's not just me who finds Adam Erne's face weirdly infuriating. It's like Marchand's, but possibly worse. I heard that about Perlini (think someone here mentioned it, probably you) and it definitely wouldn't surprise me, because honestly he seems like he has a good tool kit. Exactly the type I don't want on the team right now, all I want are the hyper dedicated dudes around all our young guys. To be fair I was also hoping Nemeth would somehow surprise, I just didn't have high hopes.

this is a great post. Obviously it's early in his tenure but it's hard not to be underwhelmed so far this year. Aside from the Fabbri trade being amazing, I'm pretty salty about the Kaski and Regula trades in particular. Also I hadn't even been thinking about waivers, but looking at that list I would've probably taken a chance on at least a few, because why not. I think the Nemeth signing is more of a meh than a fail though. I feel like he's playing pretty much as expected.

I agree except for the bolded. I think Hicketts actually sucks at the NHL level and Lashoff is just a plug so why bother. Seider is legit and Mcllrath will at least hit the s*** out of some people. With that said I haven't watched much if any of Cholowski since being in GR so I guess I'm not too mad about seeing him again. I've just been taking everyone's word for it that he hasn't been great down there.

My time frame isn't even arbitrary. It's when Zadina joined the team 26 games ago. A reasonable enough sample size to say fun things about how he's played in that time. CRL's isn't arbitrary either, it's just not relevant to what I said. I don't even know why he's arguing with me tbh. Apparently he "rejects my premise", which in itself is meaningless to me anyways. Zadina has been better offensively since joining the team, if someone doesn't care about that because it doesn't take into Fabbri's entire season, please don't feel obligated to respond and start an unrelated argument. It's not cherry picking stats, it's using the relevant sample size for my very clear statement. But go ahead, continue to argue a separate premise because it's easier (there's a term for this).
