GDT 12/2 GDT : Panthers 4 at Red Wings 3
Wheelchairsuperhero replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Can't say I'm surprised. How pathetic. Can anyone make a pass that isn't into someone's skates? A lot of our turnovers are off horribly placed passes that the recieving player can't handle. Kronwall has looked weird the past few games. He's putting up points but is making a lot of goofy mistakes too. And for the love of God can we get Kindl off the ice? He looks like he has no idea what he's doing out there. One zone entry in particular when we were on the PP was absolutely mind boggling. Drop pass it right to a Panther then went for a change. -

Go Wings! I know it's Florida but I'd sure like to see a convincing win to keep the streak going! -

Anyone shocked? It was supposed to be day to day after all. -

Go Wings! Though don't "go" in that scary way you did last time where you went down 1-4!! -

I was one of the people who didn't think it'd be that good but man am I happy it was. It still blows my mind how bad Helm is at receiving passes though. -

I agree, but it's just blatant negativity to assume that a team so low in the standings, let alone losing 4-2, will be higher seeded than us. Not to mention we're 20 games into the season. I don't mind people being "realistic", but that was obvious pessimism. -

Are you being sarcastic? It sure doesn't look like they'll be a higher seed than us. -

I know Kindl has some points, but man has he looked bad to me. -

My thoughts as well. I don't mind these lines to start but I hope they're changed fairly quickly if they don't work out. -

Go Wings! Don't know how I feel about that 3rd line but I understand easing Datsyuk back in. -
That's not a very attractive line.

I don't mind the saluting after every game, but I wouldn't be hurt if they didn't either. I do enjoy it after a tough OT win or something though. I showed my girlfriend when Zetterberg saluted the fans by making a heart earlier in the season because I thought it was a pretty cool moment.

GDT 11/24 GDT : Ottawa Senators 3 at Red Wings 4

Good win, though the 3rd was pretty scary. Really happy to see Weiss get those two goals. He seems like he's got good hands for cleaning up those dirty goals around the net, here's to hoping he can keep it going and get his groove back. Franzen and Kronwall have looked pretty rough to me lately, and Z has been relatively quiet. Tatar just looks like he's getting better every game. -

This is what I'm worried about. I'm afraid he's not being put in a position to succeed by being on the wing, so I hope he's at least given time to acclimate before he's benched, rather than expecting immediate success out of him. -

Let's go wings! I'm glad to see Weiss is in but I wish we had him at center. I'd like to see him getting back to playing his natural position. Does anybody know what position he was playing in GR? -
There's probably a few things that contribute. It always seems to me though that after what I'd consider a solid win, they come out sluggish the next game almost like they got too confident, and don't play with that desperate edge. Youth probably has something to do with it, as well as the fact that our core isn't getting any younger. Maybe the Coach's word isn't enough motivation either, I dunno. Don't get me wrong I'm generally a fan of Babcock but sometimes it just seems like he can't rally the troops to give 110% the game after a win.

It really seems like after a win they relax and lose that drive and tenacity that got them that win the next game. They always come out looking extremely sluggish and slow after what appears to be a really solid victory, so it's definitely a mental thing. The skill and structure is obviously there but they can't maintain the right mindset.

I agree that you can definitely only expect so many comeback wins. Someone needs to tell the Lions that too. -

I actually think it's on both of them. Nyquist was undoubtedly brutal tonight, and shouldn't have given Kronwall that puck, but honestly I still think the turnover was bad too. I expect him to keep that in 9 out of 10 times. That whole top line though has been pretty lackluster lately. On a better note Tatar is exciting to watch right now. He's all over the place and drawing penalties. I was also real impressed with Oulette's (spelling?) vision on that assist, we don't see that too often from our defenseman anymore. -
How's he looking in GR?

As am I. I like Weiss and feel like he's had some horrible luck. I think he could really help the team if/when he's healthy. -
Nestrasil Waived / Claimed by Hurricanes
Wheelchairsuperhero replied to WingsallTheway's topic in General
I'm still not that into Andersson. I like how the 4th line has been playing altogether but every time he gets the puck I just think to myself that he doesn't really do anything well, and while his skating has improved I still think it's below average. -
I'm still thinking Nyquist but I wouldn't be surprised if it was Dekeyser. Seems like a good kid, speaks pretty well and he's just so steady.

An amazing day for a family of Red Wings fans
Wheelchairsuperhero replied to Red Crazy's topic in General
Awesome, congrats and thanks for sharing. I love hearing stories like that and am pretty jealous of you and your family! Especially cool to hear that Tatar tossed a puck over, liking him more and more all the time after hearing his interviews, etc. -

No. I've been pleasantly surprised with Cleary so far. Actually seems like he can skate and stay on his feet again. I'm bummed we lost Nestrasil, but I don't see it being a huge loss.
