It's strange to me because while I still am not a fan of Kindl and have given up on him developing into something than a bottom pairing guy, he still doesn't seem nearly as atrocious as he did last year.

Agreed, I feel like he's really starting to come into his own and am pretty disappointed he'll be out. Definitely hurts the team at this point in time.

We beat a bad team? Soundly? A shutout? Is it a full moon tonight? Smith and Foligno. Refs broke it up before one went down but it looked like they both got a few punches in. Though Smith was bleeding pretty good.

Well I'll definitely take that over a new injury anyway, but have other teams had the same issue with groin injuries as we have the past few years? Wondering if this is league wide or strictly a Red Wing thing.

Do we know if it's because of the groin? He took a pretty heavy hit last game and I was worried about his shoulder. If it is the groin though boy am I sure sick of that issue.

Yea I agree, and think you're right. I'm just wondering why we called up Petr in the first place if we were just going to call up McCollum anyway without ever playing Petr.

What was the point of calling up Mrazek in the first place then?

First Datsyuk has to get back to scoring on shootouts too. His simple backhand forehand shot is generally unstoppable, assuming he hits the net, because of how convincing his body language is and how quick the transfer is. He seems to have gotten away from doing simple things like this though and is electing to shoot more (or is just missing the net entirely). Once Datsyuk is back to form though I think he could definitely help teach some of the others. No, no one will be as fluid; but he can give pointers on how he dips his shoulder or other things like that to sell his deke. Really a simple backhand to forehand or vice versa is all it takes, look at Callahan's goal last night. Nyquist has the hands to do something like that but he seems stuck on his one move. Tatar just looks too stiff out there, I'm tempted to say a lot of our young guys issues is a nerves thing. If they relaxed I bet they're capable of pulling really nice moves.

Pathetic shootout showing, again. Nyquist really needs to start adding different moves to his repertoire. And Helm? Horrible coaching decision. Nice to get a point but the amount of OT/SO losses we have is just stupid, especially considering we hope to be winning close games. And really when you remove Datsyuk and Jurco from our lineup, we look pretty bad on paper.

I do wish I knew what happened though, and hope it doesn't have anything to do with then keeping him out of the lineup as a precaution for his groin. Considering he was supposed to be day to day I'm gonna go ahead and assume he's out for a few weeks, because that seems to be the Red Wing way. This groin business is getting out of hand though, are other teams this plagued with these kinda of injuries?

Edit: was posted in another thread. I googled it and found other sources too, basically saying they were being overly cautious. Now we're getting precautionary groin sitting.

If he misses 2 games is it still considered precautionary? Because at that point it seems more like a problem to me. What's with all these groin issues all the time? It's getting frustrating. It's also disconcerting considering there was apparently a stretcher brought in for him a few games back.

Nice to see us bury 4, was a good game. I'll believe the Datsyuk "precautionary" tale when I see him back Sunday and not several weeks from now. Remember when that Quincey guy was supposed to be back already? Anyway thank God our defense scored all those goals.

I wish they would tell is what happened. Not knowing is disconcerting despite the "everything fine" and "just precautionary" statements.

Exciting game. Officiating was terrible both ways. Thought Cleary was surprisingly strong on his skates. Highlight of the game for me was that time someone was bleeding profusely on the ice but there was no penalty, almost like he magically started spurting blood, was crazy.

I don't mind having Cleary or Nestrasil over Andersson, assuming Cleary isn't dumped onto the top line. However Jurco had so many chances last night and just needs to get the monkey off his back at this point, wish he was still in. All in all not too upset though, team needed a shakeup after last game. Go Wings!

Bad game. Where were they the first two periods? Despite that though I still thought we should've won. I had a feeling as soon as that goal was waived off we were going to lose. Crazy how bad we are in shootouts both Howard and the shooters.

Agreed. This also seems to be where Jurco plays his best so hopefully this gets him going. The Helm/Jurco line I thought was mostly ineffective.But LGW! And thoughts out to you and your family Hockeytown.
