Definitely agree. Was really excited when Ericsson went right at him and took him down. I'm also amazed he only got two and in turn we only got a 4 on 4 out of it. I thought they were really supposed to be cracking down on this sort of thing? I recall one of our prospects getting a 5 and ejected during the preseason for a hit that was way less heavy than that one.Edit: Overall I'm trying to complain less about the refs because it's clear that they're not our sole issue, but I've been particularly disappointed in the officiating this year up to this point, and that's for calls for and against us.

His 8 points in 76 games. This comparison is pointless. One is a 4th line enforcer who just happens to skate around with a stick as a formality, not because anyone expects him to score with it. The other played way, way less games and was injured doing it. I'm obviously not happy with Weiss and his signing either, but hindsight always makes things so clear. If anyone says they predicted his sports hernia surgery and several setbacks I think they're lying. But anyway I really wonder what they'll do. I hope he gets healthy but man this is getting ridiculous.

Great game, and I'm also pleased to read that other people are as disappointed with the Quincey loss as I am and not blinded by the rage of his resigning. He's been great defensively so far this year. And does anyone know the official count for Datsyuk's takeaways that game? He looked like he was everywhere.

I've thought about this and I gotta say I think it's the smile. Any time he does something that irritates a player he smiles at them, which is probably the tipping point to their temper tantrums. I know it'd piss me off lol. To LeftWinger saying Franzen being back won't make a difference I have to respectfully disagree. I feel like our biggest issue right now is the number of people we have capable of finishing, and despite Franzen's inconsistencies he can really bury the puck given the chance. He may say he's not a scorer, but he has a good shot regardless. Anyway great game. Loved seeing the boys battle through less than stellar officiating.

In all fairness Tatar hasn't really done anything either, or Jurco. The team really isn't doing much offensively. With that said I also wouldn't mind seeing Mantha over Nestrasil. Though I don't know if they'd bring Mantha up to play 3rd line.

I wasn't aware Weiss had any conditioning issues. Was he unable to work out during the offseason? I guess I don't really know how long that surgery had him off the ice for.

Well another pathetic 2 goal showing. Our PP is quickly turning from annoyance to big problem. On a different note. If Datsyuk's goal was waived off in Montreal, why wasn't Philly's 3rd today? Both contacts to the goalie were totally irrelevant to the goal actually happening, but since that didn't seem to matter for Datsyuk's I don't understand the difference. His foot looked like it was in the crease and contact was made before the puck trickled over. And no one jump down my throat and say I'm making excuses for the loss please. I think our lack of a PP was the cause of this loss. Edit: and while I like DD I really think he should be replaced on the PP. His random, way too high wristers are doing nothing for us.

I agree with most of this. I think they've been playing well but just not being rewarded. Tatar looks like he's getting frustrated now but I think if he keeps cool and keeps it simple things will start clicking.

What the f*** just happened? I'll take it and say the hockey Gods are making up for a couple lost points so far this year. Something's got to give with this power play though, they just look so stiff out there compared to other teams.

And when are we going to realize that Abdelkader is not exactly an offensive dynamo? I question a lot of things Babcock does, particularly last night. Hell I thought going with Nyquist was dumb. But a scouting report on Nestrasil mentions that he's got good moves 1 on 1 and in the shootout as one of his strengths, not to mention he scored a shootout goal in the preseason. We struggled mightily in the shootout last year and I for one was pretty happy for him to give Nestrasil a shot. Maybe not first, and I would've rather Tatar went second, but I don't think it was as stupid as you say except in hindsight. I haven't read all the posts hear so if I just repeated someone sorry about that.
