The list of major injuries continues to grow. Now Weiss and Howard are gone for God-knows how long. Hopefully, neither are serious injuries. If Weiss' injury has been the reason for his recent play, some time to get healthy may get things going again.

Well it doesn't get much worse than ESPN and, in the states, at least, it doesn't get much better than decent.Losing a natural center who, despite what most here seem to think, has not been a defensive liability and has won faceoffs pretty well while struggling offensively is not good. That being said, it will only feed the anti-Weiss vitriol around here. Most probably only want the second line to succeed so they can heap on Weiss some more. Samuelsson - Datsyuk - Cleary...on the fourth line.

He got a few opportunities to play with real linemates early in the season. Since then, he hasn't had much to speak of consistently. He's on the ice for maybe 30 or 40 seconds and then he's yanked. What do you expect? You want him to just jump up and make Cleary and Samuelsson useful? Crosby couldn't make those guys noticeable. And it doesnt matter. When we get healthy, he's going right back to where he was. I'm not happy he's not producing, but people act like he's the worst player in hockey and his career is over. That's just absurd. Anyone who honestly thinks that needs to stop watching sports, let alone hockey.

You're expecting him to be fired up about playing with Cleary and Samuelsson night after night?

In this league, you defend leads by extending leads. Far too often, the offense gets a goal or two and then goes to sleep. They are simply incapable of extending leads. You will be come back on when you sit back with a lead most of the time. That's just the way hockey works.

Comes down to poor handling of the third period. Inability to extend leads and truly put those teams out of the game. We never led Florida by more than 2 goals. The Panthers were in each game for every one of these last 120 minutes. A massive heap of turnovers and more crap from Howard contributed to this, too. But it's that complete and total inability to extend those leads and put those games away that create this.

You're very welcome. It may be spendy, but the atmosphere is terrific and the food is pretty good. It's the place you go if you really want that Red Wings gameday experience. Losing is never OK, but it doesn't help not having those three guys. Yes, we are still more talented than the Panthers, but that margin is much less so because of those injuries. Had those three guys been playing tonight, the outcome probably would've been different.

Hockeytown Cafe is very good if you don't mind spending a buck, so to speak. There's a lot of good sports bars near the Joe. As far as inside the Joe, merchandising is about it. Wings stuff for sale all over the place, as you might expect.

I would do that trade at the moment. If you think this is who Stephen Weiss really is, always has been and always will be, you obviously haven't ever watched him before this season. Anyways, the Isles would never do that deal. Vanek is a talented offensive player and Weiss is badly slumping.

You don't own a 2-1 record against Boston and beat Colorado 4-2 in their own barn and be "just not that good". Keep in mind that none of DeKeyser, Zetterberg or Helm played tonight. This is not an organizational failure. Tonight had nothing to do with the makeup of the team. Tonight was about the guys on the ice not getting the job done and blowing another lead. Don't try and sell me on the notion that tonight was a result of a deep, irreversible organizational blunder. The guys on the ice just lost the game. It's that simple.

We scored three goals in these two games against Florida. Dan Cleary and Todd Bertuzzi accounted for two of them. That's a sad thought.

How long are we going to be an "end-of-the-line" team? Are all eyes in the organization REALLY firmly locked on the future? Because I still see guys like Cleary and Samuelsson being brought in repeatedly. That philosophy is all well and good...when you don't have the talent to win now. We do have the talent to win now.

I'm a Colts fan. I get enough of that on Sunday.

I guess you're right. Really speaks to the mental frailty of this team if that's true.

I still can't figure out how a team that was playing so well just a week and a half ago is now so aggressively terrible.

That's two games in a row that the Florida Panthers have erased deficits and come back to win the game. The Florida Panthers. Wonderful.

I never though I'd say this after last year, but...thank God Gustavsson is back in the net next game.

It's to the point where the games aren't even worth watching past the second period.

Jimmy has been a hopeless bum for so long it makes me want to throw up.

This is just beyond embarassing. This team has so many problems there isn't enough paper and ink in the world to list them all.

And I continue to eat crow for defending Jimmy Howard.
