    Even without Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Helm and DeKeyser, we still have a lot more talent than the Panthers do. Injuries are not an excuse. We just got out-played at home by an inferior team. That's all there is to it.

    We did a great job defensively last night to force New Jersey into a pretty bad offensive night. Good on the boys to balance everything out by having an equally-awful offensive night to follow it up.

    Franzen, as he has never been able to do, will not carry his recent play throughout this whole season. Anyone who thinks he will is eating too much cornbread. He's going to be 34 in a few weeks and still under contract for six more years. Down the road, when he starts to show age, do you really want him taking a spot from Jarnkrok or possibly Mantha?
