20 to 40 is a huge range. I'm not sold on either Tatar or Nyquist being more than 60 point guys. Sure, they're valuable, but not guys you can't part with.
-
Even then Helm or Weiss could be the third center.
-
If they can't get someone who is a legitimate update, and that doesn't mean a little better or just plain different, then there is no need to bring in a free agent or make a trade. Honestly, I don't see much in free agency. A bunch of second pair guys, most of the best whom are older and/orcoming off injuries, and none of them are really much better than the guys we have now projected to be in the top 4.

Quebec is far from a slam dunk market. What has changed from the 90's? Are they going to have more corporate and government support? Will they still insist focusing on how French they are and have problems getting English language coverage? I'm not convinced the Jets have a long term future either. They have a small arena, and even with selling out almost every game they're only the 20th valued NHL franchise. If they don't win consistently, which was their major problem in Atlanta, the novelty of having "Our Jets" back will wear off and fans will stop spending the money on games.

Oh, do ya?

Dickie believed it, St. lame is just full of s***

Just because Holmgren said after the fact that there was no deal, doesn't mean it's true. My guess is, Clearly was told that he could come to camp and if he showed anything he'd get a 3 year deal once the Flyers cap situation, which was a mess at the time, was resolved. Either way, Clearly is done as an NHL player. I don't understand how he can't see that after being scratched so often last year

Granato possibly renegotiating contract with Wings
DickieDunn replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Nelson would be great -
You're going to be disappointed
-
They won't put another team in the east
-
The Wings have to have their original picks available in order to give an offer sheet, which they don't. Only offer sheets that are completely ridiculous wouldn't be mathced. Hamilton isn't worth that much and may never be.

Put him in GR as a player coach

Jeff Blashill named 27th head coach in Red Wings history

Hasn't Chelios been kind of a roving instructor the last few years, basically a coach that wasn't officially assigned to a team? -
Mcnulty and wheaton unsigned and going back into the draft

Not very good prospects, it's not a big loss. -
And depending on the return they might be right to do it. If they could get Buffalo to trade the #2 and a good young player, or Arizona to give up the 3rd and OEL, I think that wold easily be worth losing McSavior

What changes do you think we'll see with Blashill?

Like I've said before, anyone who expects huge changes in how the roster is structured are probably going to be disappointed. -

OK, first there isn't ever going to be a new Lidstrom. Second, I'm sure he has an excellent idea of what the players can and can't do. -

He has been helping in training camp. He knows everyone and has a pretty good idea of their ability -

New coach knows everyone, either from coaching them in GR, his year as assistant in Detroit, and/or camp. -
If Franzen is on IR all year and they waive or trade Weiss: Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Abdelkader Tatar-Sheahan-Nyquist Jurco-Helm-Pulkkinen Miller-Glendening-Ferraro Andersson-Callahan Cleary replacing one of Andersson or Callahan wouldn't be a huge deal, although I think it would be best for him to be in GR or somewhere else entirely.

Mrazek won't be handed the #1 job. I think Weiss will be bought out of he won't be a regular. Franzen on LTIR is not dead cap space and if he's healthy (a long shot I think) he will be playing. Kindly as the #7/isn't dead space either. Dead cap space is players not on the roster eating cap. -
"If" is meaningless. He did hold out, and later left badly. That matters.
-
Look at it this way, he's well rested after a year of not playing

Offer sheets always get matched unless it's a ridiculous contract. It's a waste of time.

Founders anything. There's a new bar in Belding that serves only Michigan beers, except a couple mass produced ones they only have in aluminium bottles
