Telling someone we know fighting is going to mess you up long term, but you can't do anything else so fight or lose your job is just asking to lose a lawsuit. That's why goons were mostly phased out.

Because any less puts him in the top 10% of all the people in the world who do his job, therefore he's a #1 defenseman. Not as good as Suter and Weber doesn't mean not a #1

Lots of people went overboard on the Mantha hype train. 40 goal power forward, don't trade him for anything, etc. I think a liet of the laziness comes from how he was used in juniors. His coach had him out for 2 minute shifts, you can't skate hard that long, so he picked his spots. He has to adjust now. -
Of you don't think Kronwall is a #1, you have a very narrow definition of a #1 and think there are only 10-12 in the NHL. 210 defensemen in the league on active rosters at any given time, there aren't 20 guys better than him, putting him in the top 10%.

I think Marchenko takes Zidlicky's spot, he was never more than a rental. After not playing hardly I can't see Cleary wanting to come back.

Howard isn't going anywhere. Goalies have little trade value and there have been too many flash in the pan goalies to just hand Mrazek the job without a good plan B.

Babcock, Blashill, Bylsma, McClellan, or Tippett if the Coyotes are dumb enough to fire him.

Punches to the head, elbows to the head, crosschecking a guy in the neck, all ok. A hit that even the other team said was a good hockey hit and not dirty, suspension. Something is wrong here.

Intangibles and heart =/= goon. Give me a couple guys like McCarty, Lapointe, etc who can actually play the game and will fight and I'll be happy. I have no use for a guy like Orr who can't take a regular shift.

Guys who work hard but are bad at hockey don't help teams. Goons were needed at one point to counter other goons. Not many teams have them now, so they're not needed. I'd much rather have a guy who can skate and hit than a guy who can just punch and can't play more than 4 or 5 minutes a night.
