Nashville has yet to lose 2 games in a row this season

There is no good metric, but if you pay attention you know what coaches are doing a great job and which ones aren't. -

Adams is a joke of an award. It doesn't go to the best coach, it goes to the coach of the team that exceeds expectations the most. -
The all star game is a joke. I'd rather all the Wings players get 3 days off.

I'm naming my fantasy hockey team subtle interference next year

Zetterberg, Datsyuk. That's it. For the right player I'd move anyone else. It'd take a lot for me to move some guys, but I'd do it. Anyone who says ANY prospect is off the table is nuts if they wouldn't move Mantha, Larkin, etc. as part of a package for a young established high end player.

Could the Wings be better off trading Pav & Hank for draft picks?
DickieDunn replied to pondrocket's topic in General
Yes, they can make Mrazek wait, and yes they can carry them both. Besides that, Mrazek is far from proven at the NHL level. For those of you who think he's can't miss, Jim Carey (not the actor) http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=13060 and Blaine Lacher http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=2889, along with several more flash in the pan players say hello. -
Foligno is leading the lead in GSBP, goals scored off bad passes.

The only way Zetterberg, Datsyuk, or Kronwall get traded is if they request one, which I can't see happening. -
His untouchable list or the one some fans have that include virtually every kid who has a legit shot of being an NHL player?

Do we need a trade to get our offence going ?

Petty isn't a top 4 D here. Dekeyser and Smith are better, and except for this year Ericsson has been better, and Babcock isn't likely to bump him down to the 3rd pair for Petty. -
Hossa and Franzen were both offered contracts. Hossa dicked around, Franzen signed. A mule in the hand is worth a Czech in the bush. Not only that, but at the time Hossa's extra cap hit would have cost the Wings another player or two. Since that time, looking at points an goals per game, compared to cap hit, Franzen is the better value.

So maybe he should quit playing hockey since he isn't good enough to do it unless he fights. Andersson is a reserve forward, he only plays when another forward is hurt. There is no regular player who should be replaced by a goon.

They don't like Kessel because he comes off as a lazy arrogant prick, not because he's American.
-
It's their choice though. I don't like meatheads fighting just to fight, but regardless of what the lawsuits claim, they know damn well what the risks are and choose to do it anyway.

Their choice of livers from the losers. After that much booze you're going to need a new one.

new drinking game. every time Ozzie says very, you drink. the last one to not die of alcohol poisoning wins.

Different era, and they almost did. The quotes I was talking about are here: Yakupov returned to the lineup for Tuesday’s 3-2 loss to Pittsburgh but was ineffective, finishing minus-1 with just one shot on goal in 17:29 of action — this coming after he said “I’m not going to change,” adding, “I really don’t like skating all the time, and forechecking, and hitting somebody every shift.” http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2013/10/17/russian-olympic-scout-blasts-yakupov-if-hes-not-going-to-change-his-game-he-has-no-future/ Igor Kravchuk blasted him in the same article while he was scouting for the Russian Olympic team: He has to make up his mind, if he’s not going to change his game, then he has no future (in the NHL),” Kravchuk told TSN 1200 Radio Ottawa. “From what I see, his team game is really, really poor. He tries to do a lot of things by himself, he has absolutely no defense. “That’s what really concerns us as scouts.” The first thing I thought when he said those things was "more talented Leino." I can't see him meshing with any coach that requires defense. -
They were clean under the old rules that forced people to keep their heads up.

Yakupov is on record talking about how he doesn't like being physical or playing defense. He wants to score, that's it. -
Not to mention Babcock won't play fighters, the players who fought in the past stopped once they got to Detroit, and previously Holland has employed fighters. When the NHL started suspending people for clean hits
