Smith fighting Foligno there wasn't theatrics, it was a heat of the moment I'm going to kick your ass for a dirty hit fight. Two knuckle draggers who are only in the NHL to fight going at it just because they happen to be on the ice together in a blow out loss fighting is theatrics, and those are the ones that need to be gone from the game.

He's not untouchable but if he gets traded it needs to be for a sure thing, not Myers.

Nestrasil as a serviceable 4th liner who might be a decent 3rd liner someday. I really don't get why anyone is upset.

Yeah the cap situation is kind of BS. He shouldn't count against the cap of he isn't allowed to play. -
I think Babcock tells guys no fighting, Holland has nothing to do with it.

Larkin has 8 points in 9 games as a freshman at Michigan. I'd say that makes him a pretty good prospect.

Head of the Vegas minor league the said he didn't think the NHL would work. Too many people who live there work nights and/or don't have the expendable income to support a team long term. The echl team can do more with early and midnight games and dome promo stuff the NHL wouldn't/couldn't do.

The problem is, Myers isn't necessarily a cornerstone d-man right now, he's just the best on a terrible team. He MIGHT be, or he might be a second pair D with a $5.5 mil cap hit until the end of the 18-19 season. Trading for him is a risk, and I don't think it's a good idea to trade a bunch for a risk when the Wings have so many good D prospects, and a top 4 that's pretty well set now. Further, unless Buffalo takes back Kindl, Quincey, or Ericsson, the trade wouldn't work cap wise.

You don't "enter" the draft. You're either eligible or not. Dekeyser wasn't drafted because he was a late bloomer. Datsyuk made the team in 02 because he played so well in camp they didn't want to risk him going back to Russia permanently.

If I was in his spot I'd look st the Wings prospect depth and say no thanks.

Isn't Gonchar in the last year of his contract? That gives les Habs some cap flexibility. Gonchar over Kindl is not an upgrade. He's barely played and when he has he was the 6th d. -
He's not cheap, he just doesn't trust the Iranians. And no team has that many 30 goal players anymore. Stop acting like this is the same league. 2 scorers and a grinder works, and it allows a team with 6 scorers to roll 3 good lines instead of 2.

Maybe they wanted to see Mrazek in some practices and now he can go to GR and play instead of sitting. -
The makeup is the same and no team has that amount of talent top to bottom any more. Even with that talent though. Bowman had a grinder on each scoring line.

Why would Smith sit? Jurco is sitting a couple games. It's not t end of the world and he isn't the first young player to do it. I expect him to be back in the lineup soon. For those lamenting Helm and Abdelkader on scoring lines, was Bowman an idiot for playing McCarty, Brown, and Lapointe on scoring lines?

Of course they denied it. Jarnkrok won't admit it because it would make him look bad and the Wings don't generally throw their players under the bus if they do say they want to go back to Europe. Just because they said it didn't happen doesn't mean that it didn't.
