How many teams fired a coach mid-season the last 3 or 4 years and got worse? Of course, the teams that did better have a lot more talent than the Wings have this year. Not even Bowman with Toe Blake Al Arbour as his assistants and could turn this group into a contender.

When you're going to lose them for nothing, at least they SHOULD be allowed to walk in the summer, getting a 7th for them is better than nothing. Of course I expect Hoarder Holland to bring both back.

"I'll work the phones and if something makes sense, we'll do it. But it's not just a matter of me determining I'm going to be a seller because there's got to be a buyer." "We're either going to do nothing or we're going to be a seller," Holland said. "If you're a seller, you're only selling to about 10-12 teams. Half the teams might determine they're either going to stand pat or they're a seller as well." http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2017/02/red_wings_ken_holland_working.html#incart_river_index In short, he already has excuses prepared for not doing anything. I can already hear him talk about how he didn't move Vanek or Green because they can be valuable players moving forward.

I asked you where the NHL said that was circumvention and it would be punished, it's up to you to provide the link, not me. Even if they wanted to, good luck proving it.

Not even close. Sent from my LGLS676 using Tapatalk Where did you see that the league was going to do that? Sent from my LGLS676 using Tapatalk

Avs might be moving Duchene and/or Landeskog. Detroit should be all over that. I don't want an older guy, but if you can get a higher end forward who is 26 or under, you do it.

Why would it look bad? It's pretty obvious they need a new coach. I think fumbling around any longer looks a lot worse. Sent from my LGLS676 using Tapatalk They don't need a Babcock or a Bowman right now, they need a teacher. Andy Murray would be a decent choice now, them when they're contenders again they get someone else. Sent from my LGLS676 using Tapatalk

How is it circumventing it? Unless he's under contract he doesn't need to be protected and he's free to sign with any team, including Detroit. There's no rule in place I've seen that said any pending UFA players must be signed by a certain date or they have to be protected if the team wants to re-sign them later.

Keeping Vanek is worthless. At best he'd help win 5 or 6 more games next year. Or he could get a 3 year deal and go back to being the player the Wild bought out. Trade him and get assets that will help you down the road when they have a shot at beings contenders again. Sent from my LGLS676 using Tapatalk

The biggest roadblock is the idiot coach and the lack of an adequate PP.

There are lots of d-bags on twitter. That doesn't mean it's ok to be one. -

Celebrating an injury. You stay classy. Sent from my LGLS676 using Tapatalk -
Player A is an offensive player with defensive issues. He is responsible for 50 goals for, either scoring them, setting up the goal, or an indirect action like screening the goalie. His defensive lapses give up 30 goals against. Player B is a defensive specialist but limited offensively. He is responsible for 10 goals scored and 10 against. Both players get the same toi/gm and play in similar situations. Player A, despite his shortcomings, gives his team 20 more goals over the course of a season than player B. Which player would you be using more over the coarse of a game on a team that struggles to score, especially on the PP? Because Blashill uses player B and wonders why his offense doesn't work. yup, as long as he things playing Sheahan and Helm on a struggling PP is a good idea.

You did. You're also acting like I said the Wings were a cess pit on par with the Cleveland Browns or the Coyotes. This team does have issues though, and a coach who wants to win the Cup in the next 3 or 4 years probably won't want to come here, and realistically the next coach is probably going to not last more than 2 or 3 years unless he can turn the team around quickly.
-
I simply asked why he'd want to coach the Wings.
-
No, but that doesn't mean he wants to take over a team with this many bad anchor contracts. Sent from my LGLS676 using Tapatalk

What about him? He wasn't good enough to be an NHL. That's a talent issue. Sent from my LGLS676 using Tapatalk

After the deadline bring the kids up. If they struggle a bit it won't hurt them and maybe getting a taste of the NHL gives them a boost. Sent from my LGLS676 using Tapatalk

A second plus for each of Vanek and Green, trade two seconds for an extra first round pick, win. Sent from my LGLS676 using Tapatalk

Green is worth more as a trade asset to a rebuilding team. Jensen is another guy who will be picked up by another team, fans will moan about losing a player like him for nothing, and will end up doing little or nothing for his new team. Sent from my LGLS676 using Tapatalk

If Holland does his job properly, Green is traded at the deadline for a second plus a prospect or a lower pick. If he can't get that for some reason, protect him and trade him next year. Nick Jensen is the defense version of Nestrasil, Frk, and Pulk. Sent from my LGLS676 using Tapatalk

3 coaches fired who are all better than Blashill Sent from my LGLS676 using Tapatalk
