That nickname makes me hate him a little
-
The issue with him is that he apparently wants a lot of money and a lot of years and is at an age where he's going to be slowing down sooner rather than later. He'd probably be worth it for about 3 years, +/- 1, then be steadily more and more of a drag. If they could get him just as a rental for not that much, go for it, but there are probably other teams that would give more.

Who the hell is D-Boz?
-
Put Jurco and Pulk with people who can play offense. Make Helm a check line player again. Let Larkin play center. Bench Richards Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Abdelakder Tatar-Larkin-Jurco Nyquist-AA-Pulk Helm-Glendening-Sehahan
-
Should have gone to redwing center
-
Ask the owners, particularly Boston and Minnesota.
-
Which is generally defined by most points.
-
He's employed by the owners, in part to take the heat for their decisions. He gets blamed by fans for the lockouts, but they wouldn't have happened without the blessing of the owners. Under his watch, the game is more popular and profitable than it's ever been, and the players can complain about the cap and escrow all they want, but not that long ago most teams weren't spending close to what they're currently required to spend just to get to the floor, and players are making more now across the board than they ever have.
-
Hitting another player like that wouldn't have been any better.
-
Change linesman to Dylan Larkin or Pavel Datsyuk and you have people who say it's no big deal wanting him gone for a year.
-
Even of he was loopy, he still extended his arms and smoked the linesman like a joint at Willie Nelson's house. He didn't just bump him or skate over him.
-
If he was willing to do that, I think he would have made that adjustment already. Some guys think that no matter what, they can make it as a scorer and either refuse to believe any different or would rather play in a lower league as a top player than be a role player in the NHL. Michel Picard and Don MacLean come to mind, as does 95% of the older European players who come over and end up back in Europe after a couple years.
-
I don't believe for a second that he didn't know what he was doing or didn't see the linesman. He was looking right at him and raised his arms to hit him. It's probably something he woudn't have done if he hadn't been knocked loopy, but he did it with intent anyway.
-
From everything I've seen of him, PK is the last thing he should be doing. He wants to score, not play defense.
-
Because I don't trust that his "turnaround" is going to be a lasting thing. I hope I'm wrong, but I've seen too many years of dumb to trust him. But who knows, maybe he just needed to have Babcock off his ass about everything and just be allowed to go play.
-
Maybe they meant "be scratched more games."
-
We're talking now, not what he could be in a couple years.
-
Larkin isn't as good defensively, isn't as smart, isn't as polished, isn't as good.
-
That doesn't change anything I said about why both are better than Larkin.
-
All things being equal, either Datsyuk or Zetterberg would be playing. Not Larkin. Datsyuk has made it known in the past that he'd rather not play, and I'm sure Zetterberg said the same this year.Larkin is a very good rookie. He's still quite a bit behind those two, though. Both are smoother, smarter, and far superior in their own end.

Eichel and Domi don't play in Detroit
-
Best player who wanted to go more like
-
Get Helm off a scoring line. I don't care who you put there. Jurco and Pulk haven't been lighting it up, but at least they've scored in the AHL. Hell, even Glendening would be better. Just ANYONE but Helm.
-
Every team has guys who would clear waivers. The Wings aren't unique here.
-
Panarin is leading all rookies in scoring by a long way. If you don't counthis KHL experience against him, I think he wins it going away. Domi and Eichel are both playing center, which is a harder position, and have about the same point total as Larkin, which gives them an edge. Unless Larkin really heats up scoring wise and pulls away, I think one of them wins it.
