Dude, he's definitely not under the radar. He was getting calder nominations before larkin even though he wasn't in the league at the beginning of the season. He's that good. And he's been thst good since he stepped into the nhl

    In which we SPOOK OURSELVES

The only work of fiction that's ever creeped me out was House of Leaves by Mark Z danielewski, and I wasn't scared by it, just weirded out because the book was designed so damn perfectly to match up with the story, that and the "navidson project" the book used as citation was actually based off the diaries found in the winchester house.I've read quite a few full on novels that are supposed to be terrifying, but unless it's true or based in fact some where along the lines, it doesn't creep me out at all. I LOVE reading about serial killers, because those people exist. Anything fictitious that anyone could create isn't half as terrifying, or weird, or mysterious as what the real world can produce,

    All Star Skills Competition

There's people on Hfboards looking for every reason to say larkin didn't beat the record. "They had the Nets moved up and didn't for Gartner, he had a running start, dip derppderp." Or "Gartner was 35, a 20 yr old larkin doesn't beat a 20 yr old gartner."

The skills comp is always somewhat fun, I'm set up with a few beers ready for this damn thing. I hope dylarks destroys that speed record. Brent Burns On John Scott "What he does is one of the hardest jobs in hockey, everyone on the bench with him gains about 30 lbs and a few inches when he's next to you, and even in the locker room he just makes you comfortable. He's a good guy and probably one of the smartest guys off ice that are here." Pretty cool.

    Dennis Wideman Suspended 20 Games

It kind of would be though.Refs are completely untouchable, as they should be, the standard suspension for hitting a ref is higher than hitting a player on the other team. Which is why this hit is as big of a deal as it is. Had he hit a player like that, he may get a 2 minute penalty for cross checking, but it's not something you look at as a suspendable hit. Since it was a ref, it is something you look at, because completely intentional or not, the refs have to be protected from getting hurt.

That's the thing though, I do like horror fiction. Some of the writerstwhile are damned talented and they don't try to play it off as true. In those cases I enjoy it for the content, it's not gonna creep me out though.I hate it when it's under the guise of possibly being true.

Players Tribune: John Scott A Guy Like me

Yeah, when they brought up "do you think your kids will be proud of this," that's when I would've said eff you, and done whatever I could out of spite. The dude already admitted that he didn't deserve to be there for his skill, and tried to get the fans not to vote for him. Bringing a man's family and pride into it is messed up.

So the Lions new Gm and assistant gm are both from the Patriots front office, here's to hoping we get some of the success they've had in the last decade and a half.

    Goalie Battle

Buffalo gave up quite a bit for lehner to be their goalie of the future, I doubt they'd want jimmy unless lehner becomes a sieve.

    Dennis Wideman Suspended 20 Games

I mean, there's no way to know for sure what exactly happened or what motivated him to react the way he did, which is exactly why people are just giving their opinions on it. Suggesting you believe he should be suspended bc of this doesn't make those who think that a "lynch mob," its a matter of opinion, we're trying to make up our minds based off of the information available. I guess I'm just confused as to what makes those thinking he should be suspended a lynch mob?

    Dennis Wideman Suspended 20 Games

I don't know for sure if he seen the ref, but he had enough time to raise up, get both hands on the stick, and put some weight behind the cross check motion, so I'd have to believe he could've avoided that outcome.. It's definitely a weird situation, and it's damn near impossible to prove his motive in this situation. Its not a black and white suspension but If you're responsible for your stick accidentally hitting someone in the face, you should be held responsible for cross checking a ref in the back, but doing this to a ref is and should most definitely be more serious than doing it to a player, incidently or not.

    Dennis Wideman Suspended 20 Games

Like I said in the around the league thread, if he was dazed and did it unknowingly then him staying in the game and not going through the concussion protocol is a problem. Maybe it was a mix of him not getting a call for what he thought was a bad hit+him being loopy from said hit and he made a bad decision, but I would be more inclined to believe it was accidental had he not stayed in the game. I don't buy that he looked up at the last second and threw his hands up to protect himself because you can see his head up way before he threw his hands up. I doubt it was intentional, but it was more avoidable then he's playing it out to be. So count me in the "lynch mob" who thinks he should be suspended, whether or not he meant to do it. If he was out of it, he shouldve went through the concussion protocol, if he wasn't he could have put his arms around the ref instead of winding up to crosscheck him.

Amusing stories you have heard or lived.

So my aunt always sends my sister bags of my little cousins old clothes to go through for my nieces, they buy really expensive stuff and barely wear it, so they hand it down so my sister doesn't have to spend as much money on clothes for two rapidly growing girls. A while back my sister was going through the bag, and she found what she (for some dumb reason) thought was anot oddly shaped bottle of perfume, and instead of reading what the bottle/canister said she sprayed it in the air in front of her. She was sitting on the ground so when she sprayed it the mist was right around the height that her 3yrold daughters face is at. And as soon as I realized what she had just sprayed my niece started to walk over to where she sprayed it so I jumped up and bent over to grab my niece up and I essentially head butted the plume of mace thst was lingering in the air. Immediately my eyes start burning, I can't breathe and my niece starts crying bc all of the commotion, (me yelling, "Why the eff would you spray that." So I assumed she was feeling it, I ran her into the kitchen, put her down and gave her milk and asked her if she was hurting, etc. I washed my hands, made sure she was okay and then had to keep her and my other niece out of the living room while airing it out. Only funny bc I was the only one in pain over it, but damn can my sister be dumb sometimes.

I HATE no sleep. If they were to classify them in their own fiction/non-fiction sub reddits, I would like it. I enjoy reading scary spooky stuff, but I don't like investing my time in made up ghost stories. And they all drag on so damn long, starting off intriguing (as long as you suspend disbelief) only to turn into the most unbelievable, clichéd horror movie fall backs that they possibly could. I like hearing things people have actually experienced, not reworkings of horror stories that have been written/filmed thousands of times. Ha. That sub reddit severely pisses me off. I'm also interested in cryptids, or creepy creatures, like ghosts, skin walkers, chimeras, chupacabras and all that. But mixing them like you've actually had encounters with them into fictionalized stories annoys me when I go into it thinking it actually happened. I don't get scared by made up stories, what gives me the creeps is the stuff that could be true, or leads credence to something truly unknown. Creepy pasta is fun when I want to read a scary story, but that's not scary, they're cool. And that's what makes me so mad about nosleep, like I don't want to read half a book about something I'm interested in hearing real stories about that's Competely made up. its like reading fan fiction, sometimes I want to appreciate the story telling of an unknown author, but if I'm looking to actually be creeped out, I want actual experiences. Ya know what Im saying?
