Its kind of crazy the amount of top six talent requesting trades out of canada, I would hope the fans weren't that crazy there, but I'd believe it. I was in Franklin park mall about fifteen years ago,(when it was nice) wearing a fedorov jersey. I was walking with my aunt and he was in one of the department stores buying underwear, in the middle of a pretty crowded store, and no one was bothering him. And I haven't looked at possession stats, but from what I seen of him this year he was bad. Hes fast as all hell though, it might be worth a million for a year to see what him and helm could do together.

And those stop gaps are there for depth, because they know people are going to get hurt, and some of the kids are going to have slumps, and the young d men could get in over there head and those vets help add a comfort level you need all around you. I sincerely dont mean any offens when I say this. But if thats your idea of a voice of reason, you should go get some help. This goes to almost every one on here. I dig the passion for the wings and all, but, its a game. Its supposed to bring you enjoyment, not cause irrational panic. Let's trade away everyone over the age of 29, because who needs veteran leadership anyway? And you never know what would have happened had they traded yzerman to pick bouwmeester. Maybe bouwmeester doesn't turn out as good. Maybe Lidstrom decided that he doesn't want to play for a team that would trade their captain of the last two decades for an unproven prospect and decides to just go back to sweden after his contract is up. Maybe, were so spoiled as a fan base that we throw temper tantrums about the tiniest little things. When the wings were playing, if you watched carefully youd see every time Johan was on the ice, the opposition actually skated out of his path to the net, and wherever the puck was, he just cares so little 60-70 games a year that he couldn't do anything with his limitless golden opportunities. Seriously. I get that you're annoyed with his consistency. We all get it. Seriously. .... Its completely. And totally understood. That Johan franzen is a streaky goal scorer. We know his contract extends two-three years longer than wed like. We get that. It sucks. He hasn't shown up in the playoffs the way he did in 08, and he most likely never will. Now that I got the rational dislikes for him out of the way, can you stop reaching for arguments? When franzens not scoring, he still back checks, he's still not a liability when he's on the ice, and he's still setting guys up. For the most part, vaneks not doing that. Ovis definitely not doing that. They put up more points than him, and get wayyyy more money, but those were the comparisons. And if I call you Nancy do i have to show an AARP card to use it as an insult? Arrogance aside, the franzen hate is getting ridiculous.

I think the refs should be given full face masks a choice of a mace or brass knuckles, and gloves and make the refs an active participant in fighting. If he wins, you're suspended the ten games. If you win, he can't call a penalty on you the rest of the game. Regular season would be relatively normal, playoffs come around and all hell breaks loose.

Widely considered around the NHL as one of the best gms ever, in any sport, is a "horrible, and out of touch, gm. Franzen is a top six forward. You can make stats say whatever you want them to, but he is a top six forward. He's big, creates space for other guys, has a nice shot, a good release, and is a decent skater. Do I wish he was a more consistent scorer, sure, but that's not him. I don't like the length of his contract, but he single handledly wins multiple games every year, for that alone, im fine with his cap hit.

I'm gonna say given the reports coming out of san joseyou're opening up the discussion of trading for jumbo Joe. To.which i say, id like him in red and white, but he will most likely cost wayyyyyyyyyy more than I'd be willing to give up, if it were up to If we could get him for this years first, a few lower teir prospects franzen and kindl, but I doubt thatd get it done. Plus he's aging quick, and he just signed a 3 yr deal... so i wouldn't include ANY of the kids.
