I said this in another thread, The kings will do what it takes to keep him. Kopitar lovesssss having him, theyre like mirror images of eachother, if the mirror added 2 inches and ten pounds.

ECSF : (4) Montreal Canadiens vs. (1) Boston Bruins
jimmyemeryhunter replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
They developed him well, put him in a system he could work with, he had a really good mentor in drew bledsoe to help him, and he took advantage of it.Its not luck to find guys that late that fit your system, thats what scouts and your staff get paid to do. they lost tom Brady for a full year and went 11-5 with matt Cassel leading them. Another 7th round quarter back. Montreal is fast, skilled, and the guys they brought in fit into their system. As for your ken Holland jabs, No offense, but that argument is starting to sound like its coming from a spoiled teenager being told no for the first time. -
He's 5'10 and almost 200 pounds.low center of gravity, He's decently physical, and they could bring back the cycle with d and z, and roll him out along the circles for his slapper. And good hands hanging out in front of the net will nice. You could replace him with sheahean, but i want pav and hank feeding him one timers from obscure impossible angles. Not to mention the space he'd have to wind up with them. It could be awesome. It could fail completely. But id like to see it. I also kinda think jurco and pav would be good together.

It was a joke.

edit. Get the kids in early see where they'll fit. If pulk can pull the piano as fast as they're playing it id love him on the rw with z and d. Think of all the one timers.

Okay. So the wings buy out franzen, we lose 25+ goals, now we need to replace him.. alfredsson retires, 15+ more. Then Free agency rolls around and we cant get a top 6 forward...granted having z and d (hopefully)healthy will pick up some of that, but not enough to be better than we were this past season. Now we have to rely on the kids to pick up the slack are they capable of doing it? But do you want to put all that extra weight on a kids back before they're even in their prime? And god forbid z or d get hurt, then what? Trade prospect everyone nearly has written off for help up front and listen to the backlash of fans screaming about giving away "Zetterberg 2.0" for a proven 2way player, or let our kids fight through on their own with brendan smith on the second line?. Then what happens when they start to lose, do you really want them to be booed on home ice when they struggle? Maybe we trade Franzen. Maybe we even get someone who's scored 30/30 once or twice. Even the most consistent players have slumps, his will come right as franzen wins two games basically by himself and everyones gonna start in with the was it worth it talk.. Imagine if Franzen got Toronto into the last playoff spot we were chasing with a handful of demoralized kids, and our hobbled hurting vets asking why they pus themselves so hard for a team with no real plans to succed. So. I'll.keep him. He's no Marian hossa, but Holland made the choice ya know. It's not like he tried to sign them both, or anything.

I think hes an amazing player when healthy.I also think him and anze kopitar together is probably a better duo than the Sedona ever were. Aside from 2 inches and 10lbs per inch, they move like effin mirror images of eachother. If I were la im locking him up for as long as anze is if its cheap enough.

Very well said.I tried saying this in another thread, but it was nowhere near as concise as this. It's amazing how little credit he gets. It was always a Scout, or his assistants, or coaching staffs decisions that he goes along with. Then when he has to replace them that off-season andtthe results are the same, it all repeats. It's insane.

He actually said it multiple times how he felt like a weight had been lifted from his shoulders for the first time in, blahblahblah He said multiple variations of, even pregame on Fsd.

I'm enjoying all these "sign malykhin" comments.

I agree. But sheahan was a huge surprise, so jarnkrok could end up exceeding expectations as well. I hope he's the next brunnstrom, but who knows at this point. Legwand played better than I imagined he would for a few weeks. So I'll say the trade was worth it, they did what they had to to have a chance in the playoffs, its disappointing he didn't show up down the stretch, but you can't blame a borderline 2nd line center for not producing playing wing on the 4th line.

ECSF : (4) Montreal Canadiens vs. (1) Boston Bruins
jimmyemeryhunter replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
I expect the Bruins to show some sort of support for p.k. next game, or at least issue more statements telling their fans to stop watching them. Or I expect malcom to request a trade. -
Whether manthas ready or not. We have the most skilled rws.

Remember when the Pens locked out Michigan ticket buyers?
jimmyemeryhunter replied to Gizmo's topic in General
I think this will win in court, or at least get settled. Its kind of logical. -
If we get NO free agents, and don't sign our own I think that's the best case scenario.I'm less weary of putting sheahan on the wing than I am Weiss, but still. I think we need to put the kids line back together.
-
First off, Thank you for the civility in your argument.I agree with you completely, but I think where we differ are the ways to go about it. I want the wings to break the playoff streak, but I want to win cups during the remaining span. I'd also love to be the first team to transition to the next era without needing to tank, or have a few first over all picks. I take a lot of pride in the wings, and I'd take pride in these accomplishments. But if we end up like the flames I'll be furious.

That video made me like ken Holland a bit more.Been a while since I seen that fire, and he lists off a bunch of kids in the ahl, and says apparently these kids are better than we thought. Love it.

I posted this in the kh quote topic, but it shows my agreement so I thought I'd post it here too."it kinda seems like jurco and sheahan will be regulars next season. I've seen multiple quotes from KH and babs that they took jobs. The only way I see jurco starting out in gr is if mantha comes in and is monumentally better.I just hope he gets a full rookie season when he does come in, I'd like to have a r.o.y candidate. " And why do you think they wouldn't they allow other teams to talk to blashill when they're talking about extensions with babs? I think it'd be hilarious if they switched, Babcock in gr and blashill in Detroit. And honestly I think jurco deserves his spot. Put the sheahan Tatar and jurco line back together, they compliment each other so well and sheahan and jurcos size and jurco skill gives Tatar the space he needs to thrive. But mantha is wayyy bigger, so if he earns it, it could work too.

I'm not saying I necessarily agree or disagree with the stuff you say, but these are fellow wings fans, we all want success.I'm not saying you have to agree with them, or even like what they say, but I'd appreciate it if you'd stop trying to insult everyone whos opinion differs from you. Its not what you say its how you say things that makes me want to argue against you. But Missing the playoffs by one spot wasnt going to drop us in the draft far enough to get your franchise saviour.

Bahahaha.Thank you for that. As related to the topic, it kinda seems like jurco and sheahan will be regulars next season. I've seen multiple quotes from KH and babs that they took jobs. The only way I see jurco starting out in gr is if mantha comes in and is monumentally better.I just hope he gets a full rookie season when he does come in, I'd like to have a r.o.y candidate.

The refs were inconsistent, and the wings were failing in coverage over and over. -
