If I like you as a person enough to have you in my life, then I know you don't intend to hurt or bother me. And anyone else, I don't care enough to let something you say or do affect me.

I really wish they wouldve sent glendenning down instead if sheahan. I like him and thought he played really well, and considering he's out of ahl options next year, needs the NHL experience.

Honestly this was my first thought.Because on the wing of those two they love to roll size, but I firmly believe jurco has earned his spot next to datsyuk. I hope bans feels the same. But hell sadly have to earn his way up, just because guys with effort level problems admittedly, probably need more adversity. But still. He's really damn exciting. And edit. Data and zatta are the most defensively responsible consistent scoring threats there is in the league, imo, and our future first liner would do well to learn from them.

His offensive recognition is scary.

On Mantha. Yes, his defensive skills are subpar, but put him on a line with two if the glut of our forwards whose main asset is defensive responsibility and a shutdown line becomes a defensively responsible one, with a scoring threat. Pair him with andersson and Abby while he learns the defensive game. Or sheahan and have a the grit/size/scoring ability. I know a lot of you are saying they need to dominate lower leagues to build the confidence. But baptism by fire may correct his compete level issues. And i think were shying away from our over-ripened youth policy since our kids are playing so well.(see:Thomas jurco)

I think he's been amazing. I know it won't happen, but he needs to stay up after everyone comes back He's not gonna learn much more in the ahl, and for some of these kids baptism by fire is a necessity. He's proving to be worth his rookie mistakes. Watching him is like watching filpulla the last few years, except he's bigger and already stronger on his feet. Plus has anyone else seen this kid drive the net after the shot? It's beautiful. He is my favorite wing of the future. Edit: Manthas my favorite outside of the red wings club, but he'll probably make my heart hurt in the near future. Not absolutely flawless.But as close as you could possibly be, and not even for a 20 yr old. He's been amazing.

Agreed, it's probably not it how it is, he just hasn't looked like he's as into the games as he usually is, there's a lot going on around the wings with half the team going to the olympics, all the injuries and the HBO cameras.Maybe hes just letting it all get to him. And I'm not saying hes a diva or anything like that, but maybe the idea of hbo cameras being on him has him trying to make himself more aesthetic or make his style look cleaner. Usually when he plays he gets that mad man/Gary busey look, where hes insanely wide eyed with that "I may have just murdered someone, I may not have," stare.

I know its risky, thats why I'm saying see what we have first.He has been awesome, and I'd like to keep him but if we have a serviceable option in house then its worth the risk. Gus has never been a good playoff goalie, and hes injury prone. And who knows we may even be able to bring a good backup in with it. We have plenty of moveable assets, some more so then others, but we have 3 centers out of AHL options after this season, a load of prospects and picks.

Exactly. We can send him and quincey(who can be effective in the right system) and get a stable 2nd pairing player to upgrade that 4th spot with a cheaper piece that fits better. Edmonton needs a goalie. Yakupov would look good besides pav. Ha.
