Its not just our findings, jakub kindl really is the best 3rd pair defender in the league. All that despite playing for mike "screw jakub kindl" Babcock. I didn't put Much interest into charlie sheen until after he told me he had tiger blood. -

Ha. I feel like we say that all the time though, and we all know how much this organization loves depth and internal competition.

Las Vegas rumored to get an expansion team
jimmyemeryhunter replied to Bannedforlife's topic in General
I have a feeling that the hockey market could grow there though, which is kind of the point of expansion. The draw of Having a pro team there should be enough to fill more seats than buffalo has had the last few years. And I have a feeling that the season tickets, if not being used by the owners, will find someone to sit in those seats through the hotels or casinos. I can appreciate you wanting it to remain a niche sport, but I'd like for it to grow. -

Las Vegas rumored to get an expansion team
jimmyemeryhunter replied to Bannedforlife's topic in General
I think it will be fine in Vegas.I do think their will be more conflicts/drama than we are used to, sort of like what were dealing with this off season compared to others. I am worried about it becoming an actual problem, and the NHL getting a bad reputation, but the girls/drugs thing wasn't my biggest concern with it even though I do think its slightly more risky there, which is still my opinion. But if there is a scandal about someone betting on games that they play in, I think the back lash will be severely overblown simply due to the fact that the NHL was the first to expand there. I don't expect everyone to agree with my rational for it, but it is what it is. For the record, in the old thread I did say I'd have less of a problem with it if they moved a struggling team there instead of expanding. Hahaha. It was actually in Vegas. With coke, and MDMA... -
The depressing thing about tennis, is that no matter how good I get I'll never be as a good as a wall.

I don't know if anyone seen Conan on Tuesday night, but Adam pally came out dressed as Abraham Lincoln/the mask(Jim Carrey) and it was one of the funniest things I've ever seen in my life.

Las Vegas rumored to get an expansion team
jimmyemeryhunter replied to Bannedforlife's topic in General
I don't care about protecting the players, I care about the league having scandals like the NFL, and NBA have as often as they do, and they won't even put teams there. We already have to deal with a lockout every ten years, I'm not saying something horrible is going to happen in Vegas, I'm saying the risks are higher there. Which is true, even if its simply because the guys who can't control it, lose it there. Not every player is going to go there and dive in to all the temptations they can find because they're so overwhelmed by it, but the ones who already have issues, or when the young guys get their big payday and are out there and have had a little too much to drink. Things are going to go bad and I dont think the NHL has a strong enough following in the deserts(other than being propped up by casinos/hotels) to make it worth the risk that comes with it. Messages seem to get muddied when you have to explain them 15 different ways to someone, so I guess I see where you got confused. -
Las Vegas rumored to get an expansion team

1. I am completely aware that Maine and Seattle do not have teams, I was comparing them because they're all locations that have been rumored to have a chance at getting a franchise when the league expanded. And as I've already said, multiple times, I AM AWARE THAT YOU CAN FIND THE SAME TEMPTATIONS IN MOST CITIES THAT ARE AVAILABLE IN VEGAS. but they're not the same situation.2. I wasn't the one originally saying anything about your analogy, but no one is having trouble understanding what you mean. We get it, its advertisements designed to get you to spend your money there. But if a marketing plan is going to be effective it has to be somewhat descriptive of the actual experience. Is Disney world the happiest place on earth? To a small child who loves Disney movies, I'd imagine it would be a very happy place. Just because these places use catch phrases that aren't entirely true doesnt mean that theyre entirely false. They're indicative of the experience that you'll have. If you have to have everything spelled out for you, then of course youre going to say the way they market things is a complete lie. You can't see the difference in illegally soliciting sex in one place, and legally going to the brothel in Nevada. 3. aside from legal prostitution, sports betting is legal in Nevada. If las Vegas does actually get a team, it will be the only hockey team in the NHL with legalized sports betting in its home state. And theres more than a few players who have had problems with gambling in the past. Also. I'm going to have to say this again, because for some reason you don't seem to be understanding. So once again. I am not saying that they cannot find prostitutes, strip clubs, gambling, alcohol, or any other temptation in every place they play in. I am saying that the accessibility, and legality of these things will make it more common. the entire town consists of basically nothing but strip clubs, casinos, bars and hotels, in every other place they play, there might be 4 or 5 places like that within walking distance from eachother, theyre lined up for miles and miles and miles in vegas. It is absolutely unique in that aspect. And if English isn't your first language I apologize for the tone. -
11-5 almost seems like the best possible record looking at the schedule, but if the o- line holds up, and ngata can stay healthy enough to make an impact half of what suh would I think they'll make the playoffs.I'm excited for ameer abdullah.

Las Vegas rumored to get an expansion team

Re-read what I posted.I said the exact opposite, that the random girls would have less discretion than the woman who does it professionally. And you keep repeating that they're faced with the exact same temptations as they would in Vegas. Yes. They could find trouble in most cities, but in vegas you can buy it instantaneously without having to hunt it down, or set up shop somewhere to wait for it to come to you. The point was that its more readily available in Vegas, which you acknowledged with your comment on prostitution licensing. Vegas is built on a foundation of excess, and selling someone as much "sin" as their money allows them to get in, do you really think there will be the same amount of trouble in Vegas as there would be in say Seattle or Maine? Because that kind of sounds like comparing a prostitutes pricetag to a ticket to Disney land. -
Suter maybe? Whoever it is, I think after this season that title will belong to Jack Eichel.
