If David clarkson wasn't being paid like an average 1st liner/high tier 2nd liner.Yes. He's kind of like what abdelkader was to us before this year, awesome bottom six winger, physical, could penalty kill/play sparingly on the pp, whatever they needed him to do. He did score somewhere around 20 goals this year(beleskey) but I think he only had like ten assists or something odd like that.

That's the only way I see us getting rid of Weiss, honestly.Swapping Weiss with semin at the tdl doesn't seem like a horrible option, assuming were still competing(I expect us to be) then maybe moving to a competitive team could spark semin to put in more of an effort. They both have 3 years left, and If we sent them something appealing along with Weiss, I'd imagine they'd be fine with retaining enough salary to where the buyout would be similar if he still sucks at years end.

BC the price will most likely be nowhere near reasonable, plus we've gotta retool and have success, so trading for two years of POSSIBLE 25 goal seasons is counterproductive. Plus, he probably wouldn't hit 25 goals, he took a noticeable step back these last few years. Wed be better off with Franzen in the lineup, IMO. Buy if the price is low enough that it wouldn't cost anything too important to the future, I'd agree it'd be a why not situation, but they're apparently asking for a 1st+ which I wouldn't even think about doing.

The amount of goals called back because of him used to make me so damn mad, I think they should name the goalie interference coaches challenge the holmstrom rule...I would get so angry watching the games, and so excited when they came back out the next shift he'd go right back, it made the games seem so much more dramatic, I miss the hell out of that. I'm excited for the future of the team, but we've been so spoiled with yzerman and feds, lidstrom and homer, pav and z that after they're all gone the games won't be as exciting... its already less fun to watch when pav is out, just because of the madness he creates... Tats and Nyquist have shown flashes of that, and its hard to remember that they're still only going into their second full seasons, so hopefully they'll grow into it. But he was definitely under appreciated. Just the jokes between him and lidstrom, imagine how much better the 24/7 would've been.

Ha.Honestly, I didn't even believe homer scored 30 goals when I witnessed it happening... Kinda crazy how effective he was on a top line, granted it was with z and pasha in their primes, but still. Kinda crazy that tank on skates scored that much.

Mcdavid and eichel are definitely ready, the only reason eichel might not be in the NHL next year is if he stays in college to try to win a championship.

I wouldnt be completely against retaining some salary on him, but not half.Him to Arizona seems like a good fit, but I highly doubt were going to see a trade between us and the canes with the whole ilitch/karmanos thing.
