He has actually good motivation to play his best, isn´t he?
-
once again, what would be the logic for Jets doing such a move? Are they budget team with need of saving some money? (I believe they are not, actually they are ok with sending Pavelec and his contract to minors). Because the rest of this move is like: - save LA´s a** with goalie situation - save LA´s a** with cap space - don´t have Pavelec - still paying Pavelec till eos - have nothing back as a reward Jets aren´t obviously desperate to move out their assets for free and obviously they are (with example in Trouba´s case) not going to be instant sellers. Could happen, but LA should send them some higher quality D what they are looking for Trouba.
-
Actually it will be even worst if they won´t be able to trade/sign him, it´s like saying: "hey, he doesn´t want to play here, we don´t want to let him go for free and are unable to find the solution, so we´re going to act like a stupid and let him go for free later then. ", what´s imo the reason why they will trade him finally (if Trouba has some balls and won´t accept bridge).
-
So they are paying 4.75M to Pavelec and still have him as an option (and could try to trade him during tdl), what would be the positive of paying him like 1,5-2M and have him not AND help their rivals with goalie and cap situation? Would be the way for Holland (but LA won´t take goalie with such a term). And, as we can see with Trouba´s case - Jets are [still] not desperate [enough] to make some moves.
-
Why exactly would Jets offer retained salary? Doesn´t make sense for them to save LA´s a** and even more - pay for it.
-
Unfair, , you should make a PREdiction, now it shouldn´t count when it´s obvious what will happen.
-
Right, but the point is this won´t help LA with cap issue they have. Pavelec is too expensive for them, even sending him to minors won´t help.
-
Right, six week to get this done. If it´s not done, then it´s Trouba who´s done.
-
It does count, in a fact LTIRs are forcing Holland to fill cap space as much as possible because of relief, not giving him an option to keep some free space.

Givani Smith signs 3 year entry level contract
Juklitz replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
No, can´t play for GR as per CHL-NHL agreement. Next year is his 20yo season, so he could be sent to minors. -
Weird combination of Abdelkader-Nielsen-Sheahan, won´t be surprised if -3 against EK-Stone. Nielsen with technical skills, ok, put there "I don´t know where the net is" Abdelkader. Larkin, Z and Tatar are all -4, ok so put them together. Larkin needs some boost up? Fine! Have Hank as a winger! Don´t trust these Blashill´s shuffles anymore, same like last year and still the same old song, this is just a random blablabla, I can´t see the logic inside and all will see the result. Defensive changes make at least some sense. Optimistic scenario: 2:3OT (Helm, Miller - Brassard 2, EK in OT)

He´s not, going to hit his limits in 1-2 years and no, there´s honestly no potential of DD becoming real top pairing guy. Is that Trouba? MAY BE. He´s four years younger, looking for a team able to put him in this role (for some reason they think Myers is THE guy). He won´t be asking for huge contract, I believe he will be ok with shorter term as real contenders are not going to plug him for top D role he´s looking for. Trouba+Detroit is win-win marriage, but yes, questionable if worths DD, and yes, if DD is some option for Jets.
-
Well, they can waive him, but he won´t be claimed for the same reason why it´s nearly imposible to trade him. Price+term+low market, still the same. Even Pavelec is not really an option for them. Ok, he wasn´t claimed from waivers, means - he won´t be claimed in next two months and when Quick is back, they don´t have a cap space for him.
-
Yes, Smith would be pretty easily movable as he´s far away our best D and only PMD we actually have, no matter how Babcock/Blashill incorrectly identified his role. Would really like to see him plugged in Tampa, Pens, Chicago.. . But yes, move Smith as a rental, still he´s gonna leave next summer for free.
-
Helm´s and Glend´s contracts are bad, Abdul´s and Frans´s contracts will really hurt us like 3-4 yrs from now. Does not make any sense to pay huge price for D now - why? I don´t believe top pairing D would really change something significantly, team core is really weak, we need to upgrade everything. Numbers are easy - nearly 50% of budget is buried in unmovable/bad contracts for players we won´t be able easily move out. Maybe 2018/19 will be possible to move out few contracts, if there will be some rebuilding teams. I don´t think it´s possible to move somewhere now or in next two years. For sure not with Holland.
-
Ducks obviously looking to get rid of some salary, have 0.3M cup space and want to re-sign their best D - Lindholm (aprox 5-6 per).
-
They don´t need a goalie for next three seasons. Obviously will be aiming on Pavelec.

Blashill tinkering with lines after Tampa loss
Juklitz replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
I believe Ken is not watching this league. Team with such a core must proceed with immediate actions, see Flyers example with D. Not saying Sproul, Russo, Mantha, Svech, Callahan, Villi, Axel etc will make p-o, but their current energy, enthusiasm to play NHL level could fill up some holes which coach can´t. -
Blashill tinkering with lines after Tampa loss

Jurčo should be waived/moved, it´s told that he has issues with preparing himself and training approach. We should not take care about UFAs for which Ott is a match. -
okay okay, lemme do this... Shanahan - Dats - Hull Coffey - Fetisov Vernon ...and talk to my hand!
-
Agree 110%, but I don´t think Miller/Ott are able to sing a duet in offenzive zone, their checking options are quite limited due to their speed and skills. If we speak about p-o contenders, there´s nothing they can match with. Let´s take a look on cup contenders, there´re no 90s classic 4th lines, this scheme is extinct (sooner or later, seems like very soon, trend is elsewhere). And yes, I would like to see Draper/Maltby/McCarty/Kocur-like line once again sweeping top lines. I don´t want to repeat this once again while most of the people here are on the same page, but if Blash/Ken won´t realize this NOW, or till end of November, we´re in hell. Not a big changes required, I believe.
-
So what they are? Were not able to get out of their zone and were playing pk scheme during their shifts. Also failed in PKs. What should be the overall role of 4th line then? I just don´t get it, what´s the income of having Miller/Ott together? I believe this overall bottom 5 line accross the league. Btw., yes, Pulkk nice corsi, but didn´t play a bigger role in this (actually failed to cover Steen in 0:1 sutuation), anyway, their 4th line is skilled, quite fast able to transit quickly from their zone.

10/13 GDT : at Tampa Bay Lighting 6, Red Wings 4
Juklitz replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in 2016-17
He was not. Some nice moves along the boards and crease, but terrible skating and limited usage. Nielsen needs fast puck mover and Z is really not. Not suitable for 1st line 2016 NHL edition. Not even for 2nd. In general, Tampa is currently elsewhere. I can see them with sc this season easily, they just need to get some blueline upgrades (as you could see, there´s a major difference to play with or without Hedman/Stralman). We´re no match for them, honestly.
