If Helm can play this weekend we should start out with Helm-Pav-Tatar Abby-Z-Nyquist Cole-Sheahan-Weiss Miller-Glendening-Jurco Kronwall-DK Quincey-Marchenko Zidlicky-Smith Make some changes to the D pairs but basically put forward lines back to pre trade deadline to try to spark something

Probably cause we don't do well against teams that press hard and use their size to rough the wings up. Other teams can brush it off a lot easier

We need a defenseman that can take advantage of the space some of our forwards make or someone that the other team has to keep an eye on. A great example is Subban

Yeah they can't say that the defense is playing too well to change. Take out Ericsson, Marchenko can match his size that he doesn't bother using, and put DK and Kronwall together with Quincey and Marchenko then Zidlicky and Smith

It may have been. I missed that but still doesn't mean Anderson wasn't being ineffective

What I have a problem with is Anderson went specifically out of his way to take that guy but failed to tie up the guys stick when he passed it to Hartnell for the goal

Helm has been great for us this year. No matter how he can struggle in breakaways he still is able to create those opportunities and he brings speed and energy to his line with Dats and Tats

Nicely put. The really sad part is that he's produced more than the others had/ yes in a smaller time frame but still says something

I wasn't advocating making Z and Pav pk or taking Miller out. I'm just thinking it would be nice to have at least a minor offensive threat at all times to help us out in away games where other coaches sometimes are able to counter our lines too easily

I'm not saying as a low minute fourth liner but they are teams that have been able to play four lines with almost equal playing time

I may get blasted for this but wouldn't it be interesting when we are healthy to spread the scoring to the fourth line and have someone like Sheahan or Tatar there who can do some scoring himself but is also defensively responsible. It would keep other teams in their toes and maybe allow us to take advantage of matchups

There is the possibility that Howard struggles so much during the playoffs because of the percentage of games he plays when he's not injured. He could be the type of goalie that needs a tandem at least until the playoffs and him and Mrazek would be a great 1a 1b option next year

So I guess not being able to watch was a good thing. Didn't get high blood pressure. This is three games in a row that I think the red wings have been a let down, all since the road trip. The only reason we beat the rangers was Howie played well and the last 2 we've had bad goaltending to go with out bad play
