One reason for less goals is that goalies are given the blue paint and with better and more strict reviews many goals are taken back. We should make the nets 50% bigger and see what happens .

I don't think it was all that successfu given our history of making the playoffs but don't really think our regular season performance matters unless we don't make it to the playoffs. Otherwise our performance in the playoffs is the important think, look at the Kings as evidence

Without dats and z they definitely looked faster but obviously that's not enough to not play them. I think Babcock is changing the roster because at this point it's almost like we have nothing to lose. We got the postseason like we needed to and whatever happens after this might not be as important with the team we have now

A suggestion that keeps being made is package Weiss in a deal for Phaneuf. If Toronto really wants Babcock why would they acquire a player he doesn't like. They would take Glendening over him. That might be why the trade didn't happen at the deadline. They don't want to deter Babcock

I think we should call up Marchenko and Oulette and have them play to show the other guys what to do. I think Kronwall-Marchenko and Zidlicky-Oulette would be great pairs but Kronwall probably won't play tomorrow. Another thing I'm wondering is how good is our development of defensemen at the NHL level. It really seems like we have great defensemen coming from the AHL but as soon as they come here their growth just stops.

If we did end up getting an offensive RH defenseman I'd much rather have him with DK or Kronwall with DK. Then we could have our offensive guys complimented with a defensively sound partner. Having a shutdown defensive line is nice and all but only works for teams like the devils

I know this could backfire but wouldn't it be great to have the senators get points and push the bruins or penguins out? I would much rather have them make the playoffs -
I mean Cod or Haddock would've made a little more sense cause you use tartar sauce with then but they don't sound as cool as tuna

For all the shifting of the forward lines and the switching of the goalies Babcock is stubborn with the defensive pairs considering we have Marchenko and Oullette just sitting in the minors after showing they're more than capable -
That would make a line of Helm Cole and Nyquist which kinda sounds great
