This game has me seriously trying to see if this place is still Joe Louis West or if the Avalanche barn now holds that distinction. That was the loudest LGW chant and biggest sea of red I can remember seeing in an opposing arena last Thursday.

Seeing those money pics makes me pretty embarrassed that I wanted him on the team. I thought our coaching staff could help his career but no, that was a stupid idea.

The article didn't dig into the reason he was scratched though so it's a little over hyped but I would love him on the Wings and I think Babcock and his staff could do wonders for his career. It's hard to imagine what it would take to get him and I love Tats and Gus too much to think about trading them. Hmmmm. I'm hesitant to post this but with there being a good amount of African American residents in Detroit I've always wished the wings would sign a great black player. I thought it could create a lot of fan buzz around the city. I've wished this for years, all the way back to when Iginla was potting 50 regularly.

I'm glad you guys mentioned the fact that he's a hard hitter, I've especially enjoyed his rivalry games versus Malkin where #8 is trying like crazy to wreck him on every shift basically.

You got me on that I can't really prove it via stats or anything I just haven't seen those awesome dekes from the point he's so good at using to get open space and get shots through. Just a personal opinion comment on what I've seen lately from games I've seen in the past couple of weeks. I'll try to have concrete stats to back up posts I make in the future. That's not sarcastic either. I've caught myself making posts without providing links and stuff so I'll try to clean that up.I think in his last 10 games he has 4 or 5 assists which are nice numbers.

Yeah I meant a stretch where he hasn't scored much in a week or two is "dried up a bit" not a permanant statement just an observation about recent play that would be benefited from having a more offensively capable d partner. Nothin too far fetched in my original post I thought.

Kronwall is on pace for 8 goals and 38 assists (46 points) this season. He had 49 points (8 goals and 41 assists) last season. In 2012-13 (lockout season) he had almost exactly the same production as this season so far - one more assist and the same # of goals through 48 games. How exactly has his offense 'dried up'? So you think he's been playing well offensively lately? I personally don't, I love Kronner but I think he's been in a dry spell lately. if he ends up where he always is points wise, that's great. Regardless of anything I think we can all agree that he needs an upgraded #2.

Very nice summary of the game, I also completely agree about Smith's first 10 games. I heard in an interview or read (not sure where) that he was really going to clean up the mistakes in his game and mentioned trying to be perfect.Was that NYI's best effort? They weren't as impressive today as in a couple games I've seen em in. Or did the Wings just shut them down?

I think Landon gets another look and maybe Callahan. I like Yandle, even more now that it seems Kronwall's offense had dried up a bit. I think they would be an awesome pair. I'd give them any D prospects who don't project to be as good as him (I know duh right) a pick and Jurco. Honestly though, I'm not very good with making trade proposals. Too much NHL on Xbox.

Wow if that's true, what an amazing observation. I can be a ****** and say we've lost just a bit because of bad shootout goaltending. I won't say it though because shootouts are dumb.

It's great to see the excitement this team is generating! I think the coaching staff ran a very detail oriented practice and I look for Petr to have a bounce back performance (even though he got the W) If you could only get one win in the next two, would it be against the Bolts tonight or the Isles on Sat??

Ok, like most I know it's annoying to bash Franzen. Honestly are there any LGW members who like having him in the lineup? There is no longer playoff beast mode Mule, he's got concussion issues, I hope he's really considering hanging up the skates too.
