This, this, this! Look, everyone who watches hockey even a little knows Scott is a joke of a player. But the ASG is a joke game. You let the guy play, laugh it off, fix the voting mistake next year, and the PR is great for the NHL. You stand by the commitment you made, even if it's a mistake. This whole situation just hurts the image of the league, not to mention Phoenix (er... Arizona). I get they want Domi or OEL there, but it looks bad on them to do this, and when the team is already struggling to build a fan base, they really can't afford a negative PR move.

That map is pretty poor because it's based on ticket sales. Many of the "Colorado" states are buying tickets to see games in Denver, but are they going to see the Avs, or the team the Avs are playing against? Plus, when it accounts for the seats in the arena, not the best metric in states that have more than one team. California is a good example. The Sharks have always been the most popular team there, based on polls, but the Kings have a bigger arena and benefit from those extra seats
