I can't see the NHLPA going along with this. So what happens if the Wings make it to the Cup Final and Z has his famous beard? Does he get suspended? -

I don't know. Just spitballing here...maybe Chelios knows a thing or two about defensemen? Perhaps coaching our young dmen and showing them things and teaching them various techniques he picked up along the way of a Hall of Fame 2 and a half decade career isn't the worst thing in the world is it? I'm guessing Blash chose Chelios to be an assistant coach? I'm not psychic. Call me crazy what do I know? -

Yes I'm psychic. So far this week I've been told I'm not the Red Wings GM, head coach and now I'm psychic. Genius stuff really. Lol. Well if you choose to be so negative then maybe you should not watch any Red Wings games. I see many angry nights in your future. Lol -

I thought I read Granato chose to not exorcise his option and was negotiating a new deal with the Wings and that he wanted to stay. Maybe things have changed? -

He would be an assistant coach not a head coach. The man played a quarter of a century in the NHL. That has to count for something. Its called experience. Chelly has it. He will have the respect of the players. He will see things on the ice that Blashill will not see. I don't understand how having Chelly behind the bench is a bad thing. I think its great. Nothing is official yet so I shouldnt too excited. Lol -
I'm jealous the Wings can't draft a player like McDavid or Eichel. But I'm happy with Larkin. Maybe McDavid and Eichel become the next Crosby and Ovechkin and Larkin becomes the next Toews. I can live with that.

Why the hate on McDavid? Is it because he's a Canadian kid and Eichel is American? Why can't we just all agree they are both exceptional young hockey players?
