Two words ... Tyler Johnson

Ericsson for sure scratched I am hardly convinced Hank should be out there he looks lost not sure what is going on with him but hes way off his game lately. He caused to bad penalties tonight as well.

I said this two games ago and all last year.. its sad. If by some miracle we win this series Montreal will bury us.. we have no consistent scoring. Datsyuk can't hold the fort by himself. Zettersberg is not on his game and to be honest to many slip ups for his style. If Darren Helm could shoot the puck accurate he would be amazing he's always wide of the net and can beat anyone down the ice He is a true playmaker but just isn't a scoring material. Abby is busting his butt and huge game changer out there on the ice but because of the hand injury is handicapped and can't wrist shot he had several great attempts tonight not his fault his hand is messed up. Mrazek played well I thought but some weak goals if he was watching the passing and reading the play 2 goals could have been prevented. Tyler Johnson is the guy to watch Stamkos is not in the zone thank god for that. Don't get me wrong I want the wings to bury these guys but the hard fact is Montreal is going to be unleashed on us and thats going to be a completely different game Mrazek will need to be flawless to help the team.

All I know is Ericsson better have had a stern talking to his game has been poor not hustling, missing passes and just at best sub par.

I agree like I posted on the other thread today's game. Ericsson needs to go or not play on the lines either way the turnovers and lack of speed to complete the move to prevent the puck from leaving the zone is nonexistent.

Yeah I do that's horrible and I didn't realize it was debilitating I thought more like can't play.

Oh I agree 100% way more coverage and the shots on goal gap was closed it's no like last game for certain. Mrazek should stay in nets though I believe. Oh and I've always been a fan of the mule but I think he needs to go sorry. He has missed the past two years playoffs we lose him at least 3-4 months of the year go suck on someone else's team.

Seriously Mrazek wasn't bad it's our Defense it's not there. There are a few changes I would make Ericsson wouldn't be in the line he isn't hustling and missing passes and causing us to lose the puck when in the zone to score. Weiss is not doing much either. It's not all these guys fault as a team we aren't showing up. The only way to win is get the puck and shoot more on net. Tampa Bay was poking and breaking up any chance to shoot the puck. It was hard to watch today but our biggest problem isn't in the nets IMO.

So there are a few things I would like to say Mrazek never doubted you i knew you would be great for this job. Howard needs to be put up on the chopping block can't have a $5-$7 million dollar goalie riding the pine. Wings got the win and I love it BUT a few things of note. Mrazek clearing the puck from behind the net out me on edge a few times with me thinking wtf?! That almost got on the stick of TB player. I know one thing Bishop has weak game he may be big but he isn't all that fast. If the wings can generate more offense to attack him that score could have been a lot higher. We can't rely solely on dyatsuk he looked good and delivered. Couple of missed hits from K wall I love watching him hit a true force to be reckoned with. I expected a lot more from DeKyser. Now if we look at things as if Howard was in nets TB would have killed us. He would have let in at minimum 5 goals first period lol.. we all know Howards game is a dice roll it's 50/50 all the time. Love to see Frk get play time with a stern talking to be mindful of bad penalties. Complete off topic Babcock will end up signing with leafs anyone that thinks other wise well your just wrong lol... go wings! Looking forward to today's game.

Aside from the penalties how do you all think Frk would do if given the chance in the playoffs despite NHL ice time? Would it be a complete bust for him? He has size and speed.

It's a make or break scenario. Mrazek shined in the AHL under pressure and lead the Griffins to Calder Cup champion. He can handle pressure but then again it is the NHL he's either going to shine or struggle. I am confident it will be the first latter of the two. Good luck Mrazek I am going to give you my full faith this is start of good things for you now suit up!

Hey everyone I am new to the forums but I have been a die hard Wings fan since 1990 when Fedorov signed been a loyal and dedicated fan since then. I feel good about this change up although Howie has been the go to goalie for the last 5 years I have to admit a change in playoffs starting choice this year is a welcomed change for me. I can see Babcock's angle Mrazek needs more playoff exposure but as we know this can make or break a goalie what better way to be baptized by fire then to test the waters 1st night huge game opener its a test to handle pressure and see how Mrazek performs. I am looking forward to this game The Lightening is no cake walk team and its going to be a great opener in this series. Mrazek can stop the 5 hole shots better then Howie in my opinion. If your like me your tired of asking yourself why Howard stopped this incredible shot but then lets a weak shot in that you know he should have stopped. Howard is a great goaltender the stats show this but if you can't remain consistent during playoffs from game to game then its not a hard choice. I have been watching Mrazek since the grand rapid griffins acquired him and I had a good feeling he would become howard's replacement within several years IF he delivers. I am not writing Howie off either but the proof is in the pudding, he needs to tighten up his game and become consistent rather then unpredictable. Mrazek has been given the green light to prove himself worthy he just need to take the reigns and deliver tonight. That being said the team if they cover the ice as needed and I know they will should be a solid game. Best of luck to the wings and I will be watching the game tonight. Game on!
