  1. Sorry to hear that Dabura, best wishes to you and your family.
  2. Puljujärvi You mean you'd really give up a 6th overall for a 4th overall? That's big of you. lol At least Jesse isn't so easy to push around.
  3. Yeah, they'd no business being in a shootout. They sucked most of the game and were totally dominated 3v3. Svech, Seider, Smith, and Turgeon were standouts for me. ...and of course Bernier without whom it'd have been a massacre. Veleno had a couple good plays...no major gaffs that I noticed. Zadina was pretty much invisible. Hicketts had a rough game being pushed around a lot and a couple giveaways.
  4. Svech to Smith! Now THAT was a nice play. Kaski with secondary assist.
  5. Smith didn't take kindly to be pushed around at the edge of the crease. Good fight, in an otherwise fairly lame game. Hopefully that gets the energy up. This'd probably be 4-2ish without Bernier isn't playing great. Beauty of an outlet pass by Seider behind his own net with a Leaf draped all over him. Epic back check by Veleno, who's seemingly out there constantly. May have saved a goal on that one.
  6. 12 inch diameter crossbar...apparently. Loose pucks are finding Svech tonight...he nearly burried another.
  7. Yeah, he's been solid. Best play I've seen from him so far this year. ...and then there's that awful PP unit.
  8. Wow that was a flukey goal. ...but they'll take it! Lucky to not be down a goal...the laffs came out flying. Beauty of a hit by Givani.

    Rumors Thread

Pack your bags Franz. ...oh you meant top 6 on a good team.
  10. Like being tied to a boat anchor. lol Seider probably learns a lot though.
  11. Interesting line combinations/pairings. Glad Lukosevicius is getting some ice time...he looked really good in the prospect tourney. https://twitter.com/DetroitRedWings/status/1177695256025948162
  12. That's fair. A lot of kids come into the league full of themselves and then get a rude awakening. After his stint up with the team last year, he probably should've been working harder on his strength/conditioning in the off season. I can cut him some slack if he gets it going this year given that he's not even 20 yet. Dumb kids gonna dumb, but he needs to get stronger. I can't imagine it'd be fun watching Larkin being a boss on the ice after being drafted 9 places higher. Larkin is all of what 40 months older than Zadina? Plus, now he's likely being passed by Veleno on the depth chart. If this kid has a shred of pride he's going to be busting his behind to clean this stuff up. If not, he doesn't belong in the NHL.
  13. He was projected as high as 3rd. I haven't gotten the attitude vibe from Zadina at all. ...unlike ******...er...Drouin. Zadina looks like a bit of a dink for being cocky after he was drafted and not really backing it up on the ice, but it's not like he's slacking off. He's working hard, just not getting results. Frustration leading to some mental lapses. His problems should be solvable. Hey didn't he vow to fill Montreal's net with pucks for not drafting him? lol You'd think he could've been a bit more philosophical about it...the Habs were after a much needed center with their top pick. Not like they snubbed him for another winger. By the same token he should probably be thanking Dorion for taking Tkachuck. A rebuilding Wings team is one thing, but I can't imagine anyone wanting to go to Ottawa.
  14. lol Pace yourself CRL. Filip would have to blow chunks hardcore for at least a few seasons before he'd deserve comparisons to Nail Yakufail. He's been a bit disappointing...not a complete dumpster fire. As an aside, one has to wonder if things would've been different for Yakupov had he been drafted by a team that isn't stuck in perma-tank mode. Things we'll never know...
  15. Everyone's welcome to their own opinion I suppose. Even if they're clearly wrong. :p

News From Around the NHL *Mod warning page 75*

    S-U-X. It's 39 or bust for Tony!
  17. Agree. He's a bit too easy to push around. To be fair, it does look like he's keeping his head up more than he was, so he is making progress, but yeah he's not strong enough yet to be rubbing up against NHL caliber Dmen. I never thought of Hickey as particularly imposing, but he casually pushed Zadina off the puck in that 3v3 awhile back. If a relatively small guy like Tom Hickey can do that, what's Zadina going to do about a guy like Shea Weber? Chara? Zadina was never a great skater, just not horribad. His greatest asset is his shot and that's not paying off...so he's going to have to work on some stuff. Reminds me a bit of Datsyuk's first playoff series. He got pushed off the puck a few times too. ...he went to the gym and I don't recall that happening with any regularity again. Dude could leg press a school bus. Hopefully #11 watches some tape and follows suit.
  18. Zadina needs confidence...badly. He's been snake bitten for awhile and it shows. He's got a great shot, but nearly every shot lately whistles wide or plugs the goalie in the chest. He needs to abuse some 2nd tier Dmen and goalies for a bit to get his game back imo. I rather see flip moved to a wing for awhile to give Ras or Veleno a shot at 3C duties. It'll happen, just a question of when.
  19. Predictable. Rasmussen looked pretty good in last night's outing, I like to see him up with the Wings sooner rather than later, but it's no biggie. There'll be injuries or under performers and opportunities abound. If the Wings open with Hronek and Cholowski wearing winged wheels I'll be content with that. Sick to death of seeing so much Daley, Ericsson, ...and to a lesser extent Green. Glad the youth movement on the back end is finally taking hold. Cholowski is probably ahead of Seider. Agree on the rest. You just know Cholowski will be on a short leash though...with apples waiting by the phone. I don't care much either way, as long as it's the "good Dennis" showing up for work.
  20. Too early to write off anyone, but watching both Veleno and Zadina, particularly in the prospect tournament it was pretty much night and day. Veleno looked smooth and confident and Zadina looked frustrated. Hopefully #11 gets it together.
  21. I don't think Seider is on the opening day lineup either...particularly since it looks like Cholo pulled his head out his arse. He looked sharp this game. Good on him for making it a tough choice. Looks like the Wings have viable replacements for Daley, Ericsson, and Green at this point. Course tossing Hronek, Cholo, and Seider out there would still be a mess, but at least it'd be young guys stinking up the ice and not vets near the end of their careers.
  22. He turns the puck over often. Is that just as good?
  23. Sure! ...when he plays again...probably off getting loaded tonight.
  24. He's tracking the puck well and making for a nice soft target. Only dispensed a handful of rebounds all game. I like to see more of him before I'm sold though.
  25. Jeebus Larkin and Mantha smacking knees is bad for my blood pressure. Please don't do that guys.
