Every time you wonder why we dont go after a guy like Kessel or a guy like Semin, watch a video like this and remember that the Wings have character. The Wings do it like Duke Mitchell - right.

Pavel has a good slapshot too. Dont kid yourself. He just doesnt use it often.

Do they keep track of first and 2nd assists?

No skill Helm has been our best forward outside of Larkin the last 5 games.

Abby and DeKeyser probably have a good shot as well. Glendening and Miller are a stretch.

3 dangerous lines? We are in the bottom 3rd in scoring.

And I'm emphasizing 4 points a year isnt going to cut it for an NHL defenseman, no matter how good his defense is.

Marchenko is -4 with 1 assist in 23 games. I like the kid, but let's hold off on the Norris Trophy talk for now. I have a feeling he will be in GR when Quincey returns.

Except that is Jack WHITE from the White Stripes. Jack Black also looks strange, tho, so we will just let it slide!!

Mantha and Athanasiou should be with the Wings come March.

Howard played a good game. I think the real issue is a lack of a killer instinct. The Wings havent realized that 2 goal leads are only safe in soccer. In hockey, you should be up 4 or 5 if youre going to go into a defensive shell. The Wings need to learn how to pile it on.

Spot on, kickazz. Point in what- 12 straight now? That's a team running pretty well. Not a team you gripe about. Toronto? Now there's a fan base that has reason to gripe.

Agreed. Balanced lines are a good thing, for the most part. Glad you are finally starting to like Smitty more. He's goid.

NO. I never said my opinions were facts. That's the difference. My opinions are exactly that - opinions. You are the one who is calling your opinions facts. Big difference. When Nyquist sniped our winner a few nights ago, nobody was complaining. But now he's a liability? Come on. Live and die by the sword.

Out of a sample size of what? 1 time? You gonna bench Brady and Gronk for the one interception Brady throws and tell me "facts are facts"? Your "facts" are not facts at all. They are opinions. Smith is a great skater. Nyquist and Tatar are great shooters. Both skating and shooting are at a premium with the open ice 3 on 3 affords. That's why the coach put them out there, probably. We got scored on. Simple as that. If it was the Stanley Cup finals, I'm sure defensive responsibility would have been more of a concern. But it was OT of a road game in December. Rolled the dice and came up snake eyes. No biggie.

Me either. But im almost glad i didnt have to watch a shootout tonight. With Howard, the least painful to watch list goes in this order: 1) ROW 2) OT Loss 3) Shootout Win 4) Blowout Loss 5) Shootout Loss 6) Loss when we had a lead in the 3rd

He's a great guy both on and on the ice.

You're sensitive, fella!!! I'm not accusing at all. I'm just pointing out that Nyquist and Tatar were the goal scorers tonight. If anyone deserved to be on the ice, it was them.

Nyqyuist has 3 OT winners this year. Ya peoplr are all on da weed. We got 3 pts in a back to back against 2 good teams. That's GOOD!!

I agree with this. I think the psychological warm up might be harder on Mrazek than the physical.

Joe, watch Green carefully for the next 3 to 4 games. He's not as great as everyone thinks. I haven't been too impressed with his good offensive join / bad defensive lapse ratio. I wouldnt mind seeing him on the 2nd pair with Quincey and Dekeyser playing with Kronwall.

Is it an unwritten rule not to switch your goalie in a shootout? Howard is so awful in the shootout, that i keep wondering why Mrazek isnt warming up for it in OT in the tunnel, and then coming in for it. Is that embarassing the goalie or something?
