They are going to end up changing the team name to the Vegas Coke Monsters midway through the season

Why would there be only 4 guys moving the puck around? I'm sure Frk would be involved in the passing, set-up, and rotation of the power play. It's not like he's going to just sit on the half wall and one time every puck that comes his way. i know it's only preseason but so far Frk has shown plenty of poise and skill with the puck. Go back and check out the breakout pass he makes to Larkin on Mantha's goal vs Pittsburgh. He pulls the puck off the half wall under pressure hits Larkin in full stride and they are gone. He's made that play with Larkin and Mantha several times this preseason. The play I'm talking about is at 2:17

In my opinion Chowlowski was the best defenseman on the ice. He plays with his head up and seems to gain confidence every game. He's smooth and poised with the puck. Picks good times to join the offense and always gets back defensively. I know he's supposed to go to jrs after this but the way he's been playing the might be too easy for him. Maybe he'll be able to tear it up offensively there and gain even more confidence. Hicketts was very good as well. His size means nothing to him. Kid will battle anyone. Also a solid skater and puck mover. Made a few mistakes but nothing too serious. I would honestly put these two kids on the Wings now over some of our options. I wouldn't want to hinder their development tho. So far XO has been the biggest disappointment for me. I thought he was ready to have a breakout year. Heard he lost 15lbs and gained a step skating wise but those 15lbs must have been between the ears. He's made some really stupid choices with the puck and looks like a smaller version of E out there at times.

Wow Tatar top cheddar

Yea that's where I would put him. He uses his size very well and plays a gritty game. He's faster than I thought he would be and he has a decent pair of mitts to go along with it all.

I like Booth. He looks solid out there

If the kid is able to bulk up and fill out that monster frame he has then he'll be a beast. Hopefully he hits the gym a lot over the next 2-3 years.

Wonder what the odds are for the 1st overall...

How do we get both? Lol -
Anyone know what time the Red and White game is and if it will be streamed anywhere?

I think XO has spent his time in the pros rounding out his defensive game for the NHL level. He's pretty solid, at least for what this team has. He plays a smart safe game but he's always had the extra offensive ability. I feel that this is the year for him to utilize his offense more. He's pretty good at picking his times to join the rush but I think if he's a little more aggressive he could break out offensively. In my opinion he has all the tools to be a really good top 4 defenseman in the NHL. I also don't find him to be any slower than any of our other defenseman. DK and Ericsson are both pylons out there and Kronwall doesn't have any knees.

I hope XO can steal Es spot in the line up. I feel like this could be his year to break out.

I watched most of the game last night. I really liked how quick the forwards were at getting in on the forecheck. They caused a lot of turnovers and capitalized on them as well. Sure there were some odd man rushes the other way but this young defense is very mobile and good with their sticks. They broke up a lot of the threatening odd man rushes with out much of an issue. Honestly this is probably more of a coaching thing and knowing how to utilize the players you have. The defensive shell the wings play is garbage, boring, loser mentality hockey. I think Dickie mentioned this in the AA thread. This team with its speed and skill should be pushing the pace offensively not sitting in a shell and trying to block shots all game.

Those D pairs look better than the big club We'll probably get to see Bean and Fluery tonight as well as Necas. Should be interesting.

Same

Can't wait to see how some of these defenseman handle themselves. A few of them could be a big part of this teams future. Hopefully.

If I remember right he had some serious health issues that made him miss a lot of hockey. I think he missed a full season for having a blood clot in his shoulder back around 2012. By the time he got his game back it was too late.

I might be wrong but I don't think that any of those 9 AHL players you listed in the first 2 paragraphs count against the cap unless they get called up to the NHL. So moving them would do nothing for helping the cap issue. Plus all those NMC/NTC just show you how horrible management has been over the past few years. Holland has been passing out NMC/NTC like candy on Halloween

E, Abby, Nielsen. They don't bring anything to the table that a younger, cheaper player wouldn't.
-
Yea that last pairing is basically two pylons with hockey sticks attached. At least Hicketts can get up and down the ice. If I was running things I'd go with Daley-Green DK-Jensen XO-Sproul/McIlrath/Russo Its not much better tho.

Here's one of the defenseman I was hoping we would take. Mainly cause he's from my hometown. https://www.thescore.com/news/1345108

This is all it was.

I thought I saw somewhere on twitter that he was taken out of one of the games as a precaution. Don't have the link or source so not sure if it's true.
