1) Will YzerGM kick tires? 2) Will YzerGM like our team?
-
We shall see. I hope he keeps Hollands loyalty, but reserves it for only top players like Larkin and AA.
-
This would make most sense for me. They need a winger with mad skills to replace Hossa. Thar team hasn't done so well since they lost Hossa. So who do the Avs take? What is their need? I'm thinking they draft Byram. They are pretty strong up front. Or do they draft Cozens and take a dman with their pick mid round? That would make sense.

Yzerman wont run the team like Holland. He will work more than 3 days a year.
-
Who do the Blackhawks choose?
-
And once Kronwall is gone, his ties to players will be done.

Mitch Marner offer sheet? -
I dont think the fans are looking for Yzerman to radically depart from Holland from a draft standpoint. Holland's only flaw in the draft part of the job is not balancing right handedness into the lineup. Not a big knock from most. I think fans are looking for Yzerman to drop the loyalty to average players element. Cleary, Miller, Ericsson, Abdelkader, Helm, etc. Handing out high dollar contracts with NTC/NMC to players that should be allowed to hit UFA seems to be what the fans want to get away from. I think the Red Wings handled this transition as good as it could be handled. Holland finally took his golden handshake after getting offered it twice. Believe me that Steve Yzerman will NOT need Hollands help. Yzerman knows what he is doing.

I dont know why this guy isn't rated higher, but I think he's the best dman in the draft.
-
We better take him at 6 if Cozens and Byram go 4/5. This guy is a sure fire top 4 dman.

I laugh at you guys still pretending Luke plays on the 4th line. -
You guys aren't open yet? Shot 82 today at Apple Mountain here in NoCal. I am going to put a G on my Yzerman jersey now.
-
And a good one, it was.

I really want to check out Broberg. Something is telling me "poor man's Hedman" which is translating to 1B defenseman to me. As good as picking up Hedman or Ekblad? No. But worth trading picks and prospects to get in the draft? Yes.

Normally I would agree with you and say BPA is the way to go. But we are sitting on 100% Lefties as of now. That is part of our scoring/losing problem, even though Holland and a lot of fans dont care to understand it. It is imperative that we address the unbalance.

My worst case scenario is V-Pod. He is exactly what we DONT need. Mantha, Zadina, Hirose fill the RW spots on the top 3 lines. Larkin, AA, Veleno fill the Center position and can all be moved to RW if necessary. We have ZERO RIGHT HANDED goal scorers/playmakers to occupy the left side of the ice. We have to come out of this draft with Cozens or Dach. No exceptions.
-
I would disagree with you if we weren't strapped to 5+ crappy "vets" right now. But I think you are right considering we are. Bert-Larks-Mantha Cozens-AA-ZPinch Rasmussen-Veleno-Hirose Svechnikov-Glendening-Kuffner Holmstrom/Turgeon Hronek-Dekeyser Sulak-Cholowski Lindstrom-Broberg McIlrath Howard Larsson I think that lineup over 82 games gets us into a spot just outside of the playoffs in 2020 and just inside the playoffs in 2021. Adding (2) A+ skaters to replace Abdelkader and Kronwall (2 C- skaters) would have a noticeable impact. Sulak is not a good swap for Green offensively, but they are both pretty level from a defensive/skating aspect.
-
Zero chance. Holland needs to come our of thos draft with 2 players- Cozens and Broberg. I would trade our 2020 1st and 2021 2nd after the draft to accomplish the Broberg part of that.

Trade a 55 pts, 30 goal scorer entering his prime? Please -
Good call.

Game 3 could be a good one

Exactly. The NHL is a workshop. The CHLs are a doctor's office. Helm = cordless Makita and you lost all of the attachments!

I'm just not seeing this. In every video I've watched of Dach, his "passing ability" is him making a pass on the Power Play while stationary or slowly skating toward the crease. I haven't seen him breaking thru a defense, drawing defenders, and then dishing to a player that's open. And that's why I'm extremely leery of the Wings drafting him. I'm not arguing that a Right Handed player who can man and distribute effectively on a power play wouldn't be valuable. I'm saying that the Wings really need a guy who can do that AND be effective 5 on 5.
