I get the feeling that Zadina wants to be the scoring winger that gets to coast on McDavid's line and gets all the PP time that McDavid gets. I feel like if a certain GM were to pick him up and put him on McDavid's line and give him the PP time McDavid gets, he could be a 60-70 pt type of player that only costs 1.25 million. Maybe a certain GM will do that and make this a good thing for everybody. Don't have to wonder about Zadina disappearing in the playoffs. We all know that will happen. But hopefully, he can have success in the NHL to a certain level, and everybody is better off for his removal from Detroit and addition elsewhere.

He and his agent need to STFU going forward. Put up or shut up.

Word is that Yzerman is lowballing the s h i t out of Dorion. I've heard he only has Zadina + 2024 3rd on the table right now. Talk about a ballsy GM. I'd hold out too if I was Dorion.

Outwork, Outlift, Outskate, Outhit, Outscore, Outdefend, Outhustle. Simple as that. Zadina needs to be better. He was supposed to have natural ability to score goals. It's clear he does not. His shot and shot range is 5/10 at best. That being said,this doesnt make him useless. He's 23 years old. He needs to pull his head out of his ass and put in his time. If not, hello Europe.

I dont get the feeling Yzerman is vindictive. I feel like its the opposite. Zadina's agent asked for a fresh start, so Yzerman did what he could to give him that. Truth is, Zadina needs to spend a year in GR and get stronger and faster. He is not a bad hockey player. He's just not a goal scorer. He fooled Holland, and that sucks for us. But I dont have a problem with him staying a 2 mil a year 3rd line LW that can slot in up and down the lineup when injuries happen. We need to get our expectations to that level, tho.

i think its tough as a GM in that 4-8 range. 1-3 usually are no brainers. After that, the 4-12 picks kind of all have equal value.

I LOVE our draft this year. I truly believe they scored big with their top 2 picks. And then I liked the persistence from round 2 on to fill organizational holes. Seeing as Reinbacher and Simashev were off the board, I would have drafted very similarly. I probably would have gone Willander / ASP instead, but that's about it.
